My "NEW" Stang Complete! What do you think!?

I'll leave out the opinion on the fake badging, but to each his own. However, IMO you either need to get the Shelby rear bumper or paint the bottom of the bumper flat black. The complete red rear bumper doesn't flow with the black rockers and black air foil on the front.

Couple things I don't like about my Mustang

Do you drive stop/go in town alot? That and idling KILLS gas mileage in these cars. I only spend a few mintues each day "in town", and most of my driving is on open windy roads. I drive the car pretty hard, but I am respectable with it. On the highway the car gets over 27 mpg, but I checked...

    Wingless S197 - Discuss.

I ordered my 06 without the rear spoiler beacuse I think they look WAY better without one. Since day one, I've loved the look of the FR500C Grand Am Cup cars; and they didn't have a wing. The S197 already suffers from "bubble butt", and a wing just makes it even worse (my car has the mirage of...

Couple things I don't like about my Mustang

I have 23,000 on my '06, and the only complaints I have are: * the finish of the center console. You breathe on it wrong, and it will scratch. * no hood light * no pony center cap on base Deluxe wheels * I've developed an intermittend rattle in my dash. I contribute this more to my 100+...

    Best cold air intake system

there is a suprising amount of airflow between the hood and the top of the headlights/grille area. There is a small gap there, and air does go through it. Sorry to tell WMS, but the same amount of fresh airflow reaches the filter in the traditional cai location on the S197's. Those of you...

05 GT Mustang. Engine Cover traps heat?

it's a piece of cake to install. remove the top 2 throttle body bolts, nothing will fall out. Install the 2 new studs in their place. Slide the front 2 holes of the cover over the new studs. There are 2 other holes (one on each side) on the cover; slide these over the fuel rail mounting...

    Best cold air intake system

you have to do some major cutting & hacking to relocate an air filter inside the fenders of these cars. You think that hasn't been hashed out already by C&L, JLT, etc?????? at idle, I can understand the hot air from the headers/engine bleed over the heat shields... but these cars are MOVING...

05 GT Mustang. Engine Cover traps heat?

i just did a search on their site with the part #'s. I was able to order to order the studs & bolts online though. Those part #'s above are exactly correct. BTW, I just looked at my receipt and I was incorrect about my amount paid... the cover, nuts, & studs were $64.80 shipped.

    Best cold air intake system

dyno this, dyno that.... just stick with either a C&L or JLT. The TRACK #'s all over the country & all over the forums don't lie. I sure am pleased with my JLT. BTW, I've datalogged my IAT and the WMS isn't the only one that draws fresh air straight from under the hood at speed. Even in...

    Exhaust header gaskets

I'm with royb. The factory metal gasket is damn good, and reusable. I reused mine when I installed my longtubes. Back when I was working on my 5.0, I liked the Earl's graphite gaskets. Those were AWESOME.

05 GT Mustang. Engine Cover traps heat?

yeah it doesn't hurt a thing. I've had mine for just over a month now. Got it from www.fordparts.com for $68 shipped including the 2 studs/nuts. It DEFINITELY brightens up things under the hood!!

    JLT/Tune/Motion Plate Questions...

that has been recently discussed on Modular Fords as well. You can reinstall them, you just have to make sure everything is lined up properly. Ford engineered these engines to be torn apart just like any other engine.

Went to the track last night

just keep working on those 60's and you'll eventually get it! I know I've been drag racing for 10 years now, and I still get some nerves & sweaty palms at the tree!!! :)

Are Underdrive Pullies worth the 200 bucks?

I've had underdrives on my 06 for over 10,000 miles... everything still works perfect. I love underdrives. They were one of the first things I put on my 87 5.0, and they were one of the first things I put on my 06. Great bang for the buck, with no downfalls on these cars.

    what tuner and intake

2 cai's that have been PROVEN time and time and time again are the JLT II and the C&L. No reason to be someone's guinea pig to try something different; those 2 are proven. I recommend an SCT tune from BamaChips, Brenspeed, or Evolution... also proven to be "the big 3" for "internet tunes" for...

What's the best way to lowering 60ft times

Throwing parts at it will definitely work. Tires, gears, and LCA's will lower your 60's. However, the best thing is practice... it's free :) You didn't say if you have an auto or stick. I'm gonna ASSume a stick... at the line, I bring my revs up to about 4,000 rpms. Then when I launch, I...

    mass air vs. speed density

My car didn't have cruise or VSS... when I converted I didn't mess with the VSS and it ran/idled just fine. I did hook up the fuel pump monitor wire, and switch around the 2 wires in the main harness plug in though. I used the piggyback harness from Pro-M/IST. It worked like a champ. I also...

I gotcha... but I just wanted to let you know that the cheap price isn't the only reason people buy JLT :)
