    That code comes up on mine all the time. I assumed that was because I had the fuel pump fuse removed. You have to remove the fuse if you are gonna make tuning changes.

    Timing Advance vs Octane Rating

    A TA is a waste of time with 89 octane most likely. Stock timing (as already stated) is at 10. With 89 octane, I doubt you can advance it much at all. Try it. Add octane booster is you want. Advance the timing as much as you can until you get pinging.

    As a general rule, ANY chip/programmer that is setup for a near-stock car will advance timing to 14 degrees and slightly lean you out. With the addition of higher octane, you thus make more power. My SCT Flash Programmer, ads a tad bit of leaning according to my SCT dealer.
