Should I Buy a Shelby GT

RE: your sales tax ??, Same thing happened to me, I bought mine out of state, I paid their sales tax, and it was lower than mine, so I owed the DIFFERENCE when I got home and went to register the car. Make sure you document what you did pay though, it was a bit of a PITA but I got the car I wanted.

    6 speed automatic in s197?

I'm sure a few will prove me wrong but the days of swapping transmissions like this are over... everything is so heavily integrated and controlled by the cars ECM that it would be near impossible w/o finding a standalone controller

    Cost Effective

You WILL have to get the V8 version of the bell housing, and convertor. It bolts right in place of the I6 parts. However, V8 and I6 C4's were not created equal... don't expect it to last behind any power!

    GEAR DRIVE OR CHAIN DRIVE

does it have a rachet sound to it? I had a pete jackson NOISY gear drive for a few thousand miles, could not stand it and had to rip it out for a double roller. It gets REALLY high pitched when on the highway/or high RPMS and rings the heck out of your ears... It was cool to roll into a car...

re-clearcoating my fanblades after painting them

uh... isn't that what I said? Might not have been clear to all but I meant there was no OEM bands in those wheels since they were '06. That was the "provision" I was talking about. I upgraded to '07 polished bullits and they did have the straps in them.

re-clearcoating my fanblades after painting them

If you go for '06 wheels you will need the tpms straps since there will be no provision in the wheel for your sensors. You can buy aftermarket worm clamp type ones from American Muscle, about $65-70 for a set of 4.

    Rust Bubble on Hood

Can you post a picture so we can all see how big or small the issue is? If you haven't, I would talk to your dealer (and others if you don't like the first response). If it really is a noticeable defect, I'm sure they will take care of it w/o grief.

re-clearcoating my fanblades after painting them

If you are only doing this to sell the car, how about this idea. Find a set of takeoff 17" bullitts (cost $300 range around here) and put those wheels for sale - I bet they would bring more than what you pay for bullitts. Craigslist is a good tool to sell and buy wheels, locally.

    the stang is fixed :D

cool. did you also replace your fuel filter (or recently) so you don't plug up your new injectors with junk? if not I would do that asap - easy to change and is less than $10 for the whole job
