    Liability insurance

Thanks guys Good info. It looks like I will be going with Hagerty for a number of reasons. #1) They do not have an age limit #2) The reported value has to only be $3500. AAA's minimum was $6000, and although my car may be worth that when assembled, it is currently in disarray. #3)...

    Liability insurance

Hey guys, My car is now up and running strong after switching out the alternator. Now I just need to get a few new gaskets on the transmission pan and power steering units as well as get some front end work. However, I want to be able to drive this car to a shop to get the front end work...

Need an alternator, will autozone work?

The voltage regulator is only $17, so that would be pretty cheap to replace. Is it something that typically has to be replaced on these? How can I tell if I actually have to replace it?

Need an alternator, will autozone work?

one mroe question So if I got one with an internal voltage regulator, what would I need to do to my engine? I'm really clueless about this :rlaugh: . So... I'd obviously take out the old voltage regulator, but do I need to change any wiring around or mess with any of that?

Need an alternator, will autozone work?

I was at autozone today, picking up some random things, and I decided to just check if they had any alternators that would work for my '68 289 coupe. It turns out that they have a few alternators that I'd be able to get for $50-60. This is quite a difference in price compared to the $140+...

    1968 Styled Rims

Thanks for the response That doesn't make much sense to me though. They are nice rims and there's obviously a demand because they are in the repo catalogs. I was hoping to be able to pay for a portion of my new rims by selling these.... I guess not. :notnice:

    1968 Styled Rims

Would anyone here be able to take a guess as to how much these 1968 styled rims are worth? The reason I am asking is that I would like to go another route with my wheels. Don't get me wrong... I like these and think they look good on my car, but I would much rather have some Torque Thrust...

    Sound system questions

Sorry about the back-to-back posts, haha. I just realized that I forgot to ask about the sound system. I plan on installing a decent sound-system in my car and was wondering if you guys could let me know what has worked well. My plan was to put 2 speakers in the deck by the rear window and 2...

1968 Coupe just purchased - novice needs advice

Hi everyone, I just picked up a '68 coupe that has a (mostly) solid body and just needs some body work and a paint job. It has a rebuilt v8 but needs work on the carb and a new alternator. There's no rust on the floors or the frame and I figured that I want to get the interior done on this...

    Restoration "upgrades"

thx OK, so I definetely do not want to be buying a 6-cyl and upgrading to a v-8 if it will cost me more than $2000 to make the switch. It seems easier to buy a v8 than to go through all that. Does anyone have any experience with adding a 5.0 EFI in place of a v8? I'm assuming that I would...

    Restoration "upgrades"

Thanks for the advice GoinBroke. Seeing as you have bought 2 and sold 1 in the last year, do you think you could throw out some $$$-figures? Am I being too hopeful that I will be able to find a nice project-car coupe around $3000?

    Restoration "upgrades"

Nope I guess I see where you're coming from with that line of thinking. However, the reason that I can't afford a fastback or 'vert is because I want money to be able to mod out the stang! If I got a fastback then I wouldn't be able to mod it how I want :( Another thing that I've...

    Restoration "upgrades"

Answers Thanks for the quick reply geostang. As far as what I'm looking for, it would almost have to be a coupe. I don't think I have the $$$ to try to get a vert or fastback at this time. Someday, maybe. Not anytime soon though :( I'd definetely prefer a V8 model, as I will be trying...
