    take the differential cover off let some fluid flow out and check for and metal shavings or bits in it. if there is and the gears are good replace ALL seals and bearings ( inner, outer you name it replace it) or it might be the u joints on the drive shaft which i doubt but ive been wrong...

    if its a castle nut try taking out the cotter pin first then try taking off the nut but i havent done any suspension work on my stang to know if it is or isnt.

    you might wanna check the fan clutch if the fuses are good mine would over heat and it was cuz the fan clutch wasnt working jus some thing to like at for the fan..... as for the overheating is there any coolant in the oil ??
