    you need to unplug the harness again and attach a test light while someone else steps on the brakes, start probing wires until you find power, when you do repeatedly step on and off the brake and the test light should do the same. make sure you got a good grounding point for your test light...

    yes... stop going to parts stores that carry cheap, inexpensive, poor quality parts. try original ford parts, they work just fine for 80,000 miles or so . and its cheaper than you think..especially when you add up the amount of times you had to purchase a no name version.

    stop... the allen bolt holds the tensioner to the block do not turn that one!! you need a socket to go over the bolt that holds the pulley on. lift up (you want the the rachet in reverse and the end of the ratchet facing the drivers side for leverage... this is not hard...

    i think you need to recheck your firing order/plug wire routing..id bet you got two wires mixed up..or more...re check and recheck everything you did. your 420 code is cat efficiency ignore that code till you get it running right. the converter and o2 sensors cannot keep up with the spent...

    your on the right track a.p. i would clean the maf first drive it aroung for a while to see what comes back for codes. commonly its either that or oxygen sensors, or egr ports blocked..good luck
