    IMO 1/4" is plenty. The rim/wheel shouldn't flex. The tire will roll over some but not much. I run my cars with less than that. You can grind/cut back on the upper arm too. Here is a photo of an arm I did for my Falcon.

    Nice job. I am glad to see more roller parts going in these cars. It is a fun project and really helps the car ride smoother and handle better. :nice: I like the bracing under the arm, we put ours on the outside.

    Offset upper ball joints

    You can move the shaft from side to side by removing the two long bolts and spin the shaft. The shaft has right hand threads on both sides so it will spin and as it spins it moves. No need to remove the big nuts from the arm.

    LOL - been there . When I got the orange coup, the UCA's were way of center. I bet the drivers side was off by over 1/4". 80% of the arms I take apart have the shaft off set to one side or the other. I just did a set that were off a full 1/4". Taking the time to center the shaft in the arm...

    Advance the timing and see if that helps. If the timing is to far retarded, it will pop though the carb. It sounds like a rod knock more than a carb POP. Pull the starter and see if it's hitting the flywheel. John

    I like scoops. I ran the tubes on my 66 coup all the way to the backing plate. It's just mock-up at this point and the car still needs a lot of work, and a bit of cleaning. :shock: It look's like overkill to me but they're not fake anymore.

    That is the only answer because that's the only way to do it. Cut 1/4 coil off at a time till it sits the way you want. That's it ! The 1" upper arm drop will only lower the car about 1/4" to 3/8".

    That is a clutch assist spring, not a return spring. Ford put it in for the girls who can't drive a 4-speed with a stiff clutch. I remove them from all of our cars. They put a lot of wear into the pedal bushings. They do make a nice center piece for a car parts wind chime :rlaugh:

    I have a set of those headers for our 66' coup with a Boss 302. The Z bar fit's fine. I asked Stan before I bought them. The headers for the Cleveland in the early cars works with the Z bar too. I have set of those in our 65' coup with a C motor. They are expensive but they are the only ones...

    Well, it took me three years but I did it. A true roller idler for the 67-70 cars. It's a combo of machine work on the idler arm, idler kits from different cars (not all Ford) that needed machine work also and hardware. I made both the P/S and M/S units. They look the same so I only put up one...

    A roller idler arm will help a lot with the steering. Those rubber bushing units are horible.
