What should my ammeter read ?

You can upgrade the alternator to either a 100A or the big 130A, not too big of a deal. IMO I'd add a cap... depends on how much power to what size to get; figure 1000W needs a 1 farad cap as a rule of thumb. I'm not sure about the mustang ammeter gauge question; I'm on my first 65 that I...

    Need some help...track times inside

Good choice in going w/the DR Matt. I've run BFG's into the 11's on a 5-spd so I'd vote for them...but those MT's look/hook nice as hell! Whichever tire you choose just remember to heat them up, keep the pressure down, and play w/the launch RPM and you'll be happy.

need help cooling my 408 stroker

I would agree. What gauge are you using now? I'm not sure I'd trust that fan pulls as much CFM as claimed. As stated, I'd want/expect something lower than 200* while cruising/highway speeds. What brand of radiator is it?

    Need some help...track times inside

That is how to do it, plain and simple. No offense to the ppl thinking DR's won't get you there and tire sidewall being an issue, but that's a bunch of BS. If that was the case then why are there cars running in the 8's on DR's? <---NMRA record holder Chad Doyle ran an 8.13 :hail2: You...

    Not so cool, COOLING problems

The only thing I know of, within reason of course, that'll move that much air is the Mark VIII fan. The thing is a beast at moving air and you'll need to upgrade the alternator to use it... fan pulls in excess of 100A on power up and 30A continuous. Other considerations are the 94/95 Mustang...

    Turbo 66

The sportsman block is still a 2 bolt main; in 302 trim it isn't worth the extra cash, but the 351 is fairly strong. The R block is a 4 bolt and isn't sold anymore, but Ford also sells a 351 4 bolt main for ~1800$ I believe. In any case, a strong block to begin w/is much desired and needed...

    AOD swap....but engine already balanced....

28z AOD flexplate will work; C4 162t 11 7/16" TC bolt pattern will work too. I'm sure Autozone, Pepboys, NAPA etc will have them in stock

yeppers! Once you go dart you'll never go back... or at least the SVO 4 bolt 351 block'll do.

    Oil pressure and Hose size

N/M... can't pass reading class. But to answer the question as I read it this time: oil pressure will decrease very little if any. Flow will increase due to the larger line, quality gauge would do wonders in reading proper pressure.

    Synthetic lube in rearend okay?

So are you drawing the conclusion that synthetic oil is to blame for premature failure? I'd imagine if it's the correct oil (weight wise) and it's not low then it's doing its job and wonder how it can be blamed. I'm curious from your standpoint tho, please explain more. BTW, I have not had...

    Should I tub the Beast?

Yeah, DK has one bitchin' looking car... and it's not even finished!! He also has a good plan on what you should do. 6 banger cars are fairly plentiful and in various conditions depending on how much you want to spend, as I'm sure you already know. If you can't go that route, then look into...

    challanged by a pontiac

That is a lot of work for one race... especially if it's just a driver. I'm under the impression he didn't want to spend that much; which if that's the case then the best bang for the buck a nitrous system (NX or Nitrous Works please!). But you do have a good plan on kicking the crap out of...

    challanged by a pontiac

I def agree w/you on that one Max! :D I'm not a fan of the small cam, but that's neither here nor there. IMO heads, sticky tires, and some seat time and you could surprise him. Good luck, have fun, and no excuses if you lose cause racin' is too much fun!

need to know how to get 400hp out of 351w?

I believe those are the heads. I'm thinking he's gonna hit 11's... he has one of the nicest dyno graphs. VERY little bumps, if any.

need to know how to get 400hp out of 351w?

bnickel... sounds like a custom cam is in order (?). How much more flow out of the 'competition port job' do you get? I have a friend running stock (ported) E7's, stock 'looking' intake (shortened runners), 65 t-body, LT's, & 73 C&L, along w/a Buddy Rawls custom cam making 290/320 w/a tune...

repair suggestions for 66 coupe door

I bought a pair from CJ Pony and wish I would've been in the loop before I purchased them. I haven't installed them yet, but when set side by side to the original, they look good and everything seems to be 'in order'. I hope they fit good, cause the original are pretty fubar.
