    The cut-out-the-cats solution is what the previous owner did on my '02. You can trick the computer out of throwing the code with a set of MIL eliminators for like 50-70 bucks for the plug-in ones(try americanmuscle.com) or you can make some yourself. They make splice-in ones that are cheaper...

    So what's the deal with custom ordering a car? I like the idea of the car being delivered directly to me and no jagoffs getting their greasy mitts on it (aside from me, of course). Do you pay a hefty premium for custom-ordered? Is there still the same bargaining/haggling?

    I've heard of people getting them for $500 above invoice but after a serious session with a salesman here they only came 500 off sticker. As you might have guessed I'm still driving my '02....My plan now is to wait for the 'new' factor to die out while I save up a downpayment.

    So I put RTV on the valve cover, attach the gasket, and put two dabs of RTV on the head at the front where the timing chain is....no RTV anywhere else on the head?

    No tune. Just took it to the dealership for a reflash and they claim the PCM was from a Ranger, then when they tried to reprogram it it wouldn't accept any codes....now I need a new PCM. This is very very fishy to me and I feel like they just fried my PCM and want me to foot the bill....

    IAC didn't do it....car threw code P1693 so I'm guessing the PCM reflash might be the ticket.

    My '02 GT with '03 engine threw this code: P1639 "Vehicle ID Block Corrupted: Not Programmed" Car dies at idle, at speed, no rhyme nor reason. Sometimes if I leave the key in the on position long enough the odo will --------- and then the fan comes on. This was happening before the engine...
