Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

The new Mustangs weigh quite a bit more than 3,400 pounds.

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

Possibly, but nowhere near enough of an increase to make up for the increase in price that the suppliers would require to stay in business with such a huge loss in sales (that one of the big three going under would cause). "Even though Ford isn’t experiencing a “cash crisis,” a GM or Chrysler...

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

Agreed, but if one goes, it makes it much more difficult for the others to survive. Prices of parts/services will go up to maintain profitability due to the loss in sales for GM or Chrysler related stuff.

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

I did read the first couple of pages, and as several people pointed out, this is about more than just power ratings. As implied by the thread's subject and first few pages, this thread is also about the decision to purchase a 315HP car vs. a 400+ HP car. For me, however, the HP rating has little...

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

It didn't go over my head; it's just nearly irrelevant to me. I get frustrated when people say that "this whole thread" is about some specific aspect of the argument, because they always 'cry foul' when someone has a good point to make outside the scope of their argument. Stock vs. stock, I'm...

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

I beg to differ. I am looking for a platform to build upon, and it is much easier and less complicated to add a supercharger than to add cubes.

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

You realize that the EPA lowered their mileage estimates, right? They used to be higher, and spot-on in my opinion, but a majority of people were never getting that mileage because they barely understand how a car works, let alone have been trained to drive one. So now the EPA estimates are for...

So who drives their Mustang in the winter?

I live in the DC/Baltimore area and I've been driving F-bodies and Mustangs since I was 16, all year round. Granted, we normally have moderate winters and if we do get a big snow storm, it shuts everything down. My parents are from upstate NY and taught me how to drive in the snow at a young...

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

When I buy a car, I am looking for a good platform--which takes into account more than just power--but I do like displacement. All other things being equal, there is no replacement for displacement. I have a lot of respect for the 281 mod-motor, as I'm on my second one. I beat 135,000 miles out...

    New Engine/Tranny Combo

I currently have a 2000 GT with a Procharger P-1SC, a 2-core intercooler, Accufab 75mm & TB, Bassani mid-length headers, Bassani catted X-pipe, a MagnaPak catback, Sportline springs, Pro3 c/c kit, KYB adjsutable shocks/struts, Saleen 17"x9" wheels, and MM SFCs. It's an automatic, and it has to...

    Mustang Clubs

There's the Mustang Club of Maryland...I haven't had a chance to make it to their meets yet. As soon as I switch jobs (and get a better schedule), I'm gonna be out trying to cruise a lot though!

Good Maryland / DC area tuners?

JPC installed most of my exhaust and my Procharger. I highly recommend them. The dyno is not an engine dyno though, it's a chasis dyno...at least, I'm pretty sure of that. They did a lot of pulls on the dyno for me, since they installed the parts...and I'm pretty sure I didn't get charged extra...

    Mid Atlantic Maryland Rollcall

lol - yeah, I felt bad for him too. All in all it was a good day! It's my last chance to go this season...can't wait till April, as I'll have Fri-Sun off then. :D We should definitely try to get a bunch of people here to go next season...show up in force. A LOT of GM products there...not so...

    Mid Atlantic Maryland Rollcall

I got the Procharger on and tuned. 346 RWHP (keep in mind it's an auto). I pulled a 13.1 @ 107 at Capitol on Sunday with traction uses and bouncing the rev limiter. Drizzle and a broken Camaro cut my runs short. This wasn't my fastest run...didn't really launch, but it's the only decent...

I get all mine done at JPC Racing in Glen Burnie, MD. Their prices are about market average, but they do great work.

That is a gorgeous car dude!! :nice: I love the last years of the foxes...and that car was kept in incredible shape. Don't ya hate the wait for tags? As for me, I'm going nuts not being able to drive mine...dropped my car off last night, and when I get it back tomorrow it'll have a Procharger...

does any of your cars feel good some days,

I've felt this in several cars that I've owned. I'm very weather concious, as I work at an airport, and it always happened on days that were either humid, or hot and humid. A lot of people don't realize that central MD gets 95 degree, 100% humidity waaay too frequently. Last winter, with no...
