How does a engine stand hold an engine?

well, personaly, when it comes to something like holding the main part of your car up, and your own hands and feet. I try not skip out on it. I mean why not spend the extra 1 buck for the best bolts. I bought mine for 4 bucks(1 buck a bolt) (cdn) at UAP, i got harded long bolts, best they had...

How does a engine stand hold an engine?

yup, 12sec. has said it perfect. the engine (When completely together) is a little "shakey", but when the cyl. heads are off its pretty stable.

    Put new springs on but.....

yea, but, everyone fights, doesn't mean we don't like each other. just means we think diffrent, theres a reason why the quote "All animals are born equal, but some are born more equal than others." (Animal Farm, 1949) is such a good way to say that no one is equal, thus there will be fighting...

    40 over

    A 302 stroke with a 4.03 bore is 306.13, its a good engine.

    40 over

well depending on what block you have: 289(bore: 4.005), or 302(bore: 4.004) you have a 289.25, or a 289.10, respectively. when most people bore them out they just go to a 4.030 or a 4.040. so if your bore is a 4.040 you have a 294.32. Hope that helps.

    40 over

well i'm not 40, actually i'm not even half way there yet. but, i can tell you that depending on your set up you can get about 5-10 extra hp from a .40 bore. but boreing isn't just ment for gaining extra hp, the cyl. walls could have been damned ect, thus needing the bore.

    simple rear end question

hehe, i wish, truth is my car has been on stands since i got it (total restoraton) and i just got my learners lisence not to long ago, so no burn outs yet. i mean when i just spin them with my hand. 90% of EVERYTHING on my baby is shot. so i figured i would just put in that pile anyway.. :(

    simple rear end question

yep, 67 coupe. now that i think of it, the other one was going the other way, which is kinda weird because when i use to spin it only one would spin and it would make a"grinding" noice, so i fogured it was shot. From what i could make out on the tag it said "V1" then under it have about a 8-9...

can someone explain this to me..

i want to use something like a 275, or a 295 15 inch tire on my 67 coupe. now the 295s are about 10inchs wide, but on ALL the charts they say i can only fit 235s on. The wheel well is just about 13 inches wide, with the right backspacing shouldn't i beable to do this?
