    It's pretty common for these cars to suck ass. I did everything tune-up wise that is possible and it still averaged about 19mpg. Edit: Mine was an '89 Auto. It's currently sitting with a messed up transmission.

    I doubt a new spout will allow you to run any more timing than you're at now. My car is currently set at 7* of timing I believe. Don't worry about being stuck at 8*.
