    Engine Noises

    First check the header gaskets, I thought I had a bad lifter, it was just a header gasket. See exhibit a: http://www.starshadow.com/~gael/pictures/DCP04798.JPG If that doesn't look like it's it, I'd say lifters. I don't think it's pinging, unless it's REALLY pinging badly.

    5 Speed from late 80's 4s & 6s

    I'm pretty sure the 4 and 6cyl T5's won't work on a V8. You want a T5 from a V8 Fox, or you can get a T5 from a SN95 with the 5.0 engine (94-95). I have mine from the 94-95.

    Has anyone used the Koni SPA1 shocks on their car?

    If I'm right, almost all race parts have that on them, it's just pretty much to cover them from lawsuits. I know plenty of people who are running drag shocks on street driven cars though, and as far as I know they haven't had anything happen to them because of driving them on the street...

    did you use a t5 electrical harness or the same one that was hooked up on the 4 spd? i may need a t5 harness if it's not the 4spd one. i only got the transmission, no wiring stuff.

    My II is out to pasture until further notice.

    I know one person has a Tremec 3550 in his II (a351must2), not sure how easy of a bolt on it is. It really depends on the headers I think. If you're not making a ton of power, and don't plan to be for a while, I'd consider a T5 first.

    I don't know what gauge it was.. but you'd want to use something around 1/8" thickness. We used something that was really thin, but we had the previous gauge setup as a backing plate.
