    Carbon build up will cause the problem. Get a top end cleaner to fix it. A rich mixture can cause the carbon problem.

    Yes, the wiring to the fan is the part that came with the fan. I changed the temperature sensor from a stick in the radiator to one that is is the thermostat housing and that is a painless unit. The original realy was a 30/40 amp. I replaced it with a 30.

    it is working properly. It comes on at 180 and shuts backs off at 160. It does run most of the time these days.

    I hane an Old Air shrouded electrical fan. One of the wires running to the fan motor gets hot enough that it has deformed the realy base and melted the plastic around the terminal on the relay. This does not seem right.

    1968 coupe purchase advice

    I don't have personal experience but there is a "sticky thread" at the top that is about the swap. I would worry about the springs being stiff enough, the brakes being OK, and the shocks.

    I have the T5Z and 3:55 gears. The buzz starts at about 2200 and builds. Thats 75 to 80 mph. I have the original shaft shortened one inch by a local shop. I can't remember who the yolk came from.

    Is it a shudder or more of a buzz? I m working on a buzz at 70 plus in my 65 with a T5. I can fell it best when I get up to 80 and push in the clutch. It vibrates coming down to about 70 and then stops. You have already verified the pinion angles which was my next step.

    Cam change questions

    I have the XE268H cam with Edelbrock heads, Blue Racer roller rockers, T5Z tranny, 3:55 gears, 500 cfm Edelbrock carb, Performer RPM intake. It is great. Listen to the other posts and don't skimp on rockers and springs and you will be happier in the long run.

    cam selection

    Take a look at the Comp Cam XE268H. I have a similar build but with Edelbrock heads and a 500 cfm carb. The 268 tops out at 5800 and my engine pulls hard till the rev limiter kicks in at 6K. The cam has a nice sound and pulls well from 1500. I haev a T5Z and 3:55 gears. I have not dynoed it yet...

    Wheel hop

    Are you doing repeated launches? It spins smoothly on the first ones but the the wheels hop under accleration after a few ? I autocross as well and have been pleased with the KYB gas adjust shocks. I have installed the under ride traction bars and they eliminated my hop.

    v8 vibration

    I dont have a balanced engine but I do get a vibration at 2100 that lasts till 2500. My cam is not as hot as yours but it has been there for three different grinds.
