    Would This Be Too "ricer-ish"?

Do what you want. You put a lot of time and money in to your build. I hade no problem putting this plate on my old car. Plenty of 4 digit hp cars saw it when trying to catch up. It's your car, build, have confidence in it and back it up :nice:

400rwhp And 410 Gears, Can Anyone Hook Up On Street Tires?

@Nightfire , a taller tire is definitely not a bad idea. Personally, when you add meth, crank that D1 up and max it out. An IRS T56 Cobra is not a good comparison to your auto with 4.10's. Run the car at the track, log it, see where you're at. See how you like it on the street, tires, etc and...

    Just A Teaser Pic....

:burnout: Yep, once you go built, you never go back... Awaiting numbers, then a thread about needing to change gears, smaller pulley, meth, etc. :nice:

    Just A Teaser Pic....

Badass. Looking forward to your numbers, it's been a long road. BTW, Put a filter or cover over your inlet if there's dust in the air, even if you only have it off a couple hours.

400rwhp And 410 Gears, Can Anyone Hook Up On Street Tires?

^ Extremely good info from somebody with a quick auto 2v. I'm not experienced with gearing/tire heights with autos, since the 7 sports cars I've had are 5-6 speed manuals. My whole focus has been on cutting a 60ft in street trim without dumping the clutch. My best so far is a 1.46 in full...

400rwhp And 410 Gears, Can Anyone Hook Up On Street Tires?

I agree with Will. Gears are the death of hooking an FI car with a manual transmission on the street. Auto's, in all platforms can get away with lower gearing on the street with a higher power ldvel. Your gears and power level would probably be perfect for the 1/4 mile on sticky drag radials...

I'd bet it has to do when the new PI intake was installed. A leak down would be a good start

Let's Try This: Your 1st Trip Down The Dragstrip

My first trip down the track was in my 1998 Mustang GT with a KN in 1999 with under drive pulleys, and an H pipe. First pass was a 14.8. My final pass of the day was a 14.2@98mph, and I was hooked after that. All passes were against my buddies 3000GT vr4, and beat him all 4 times which gave me...

    Tork Tech Gt Dyno Vid!

Meth will get you the extra fueling you need, and add a nice bit of power while reducing your IAT's a lot. I've gone up to 25% of my fueling needs being dependent upon methanol.

How Bad Are Tires Hurtin Me?

Honestly, keep those wheels/tires for the street. You can pick up a set of cheap 97-04 17x8 wheels for cheap at a junkyard from a stang and just swap the rears for track duty in 5-10 minutes. You can also run a 275 drag radial on them. I only run 275-295 17 inch drag radials up to 1000hp and...

How Bad Are Tires Hurtin Me?

Those tires are about the worst tires for hooking. There is a lot to it, and you can do it with practice. Some normal 245-17's will actually hook better. Ask tank_567 who runs really well on street tires, practice is your best friend. Personally, with your power level gearing and 5 speed, I'd...

Progress Thread And so it begins....

Sounds exactly right. Wait till you have boost leaks, and start launching belts taking out your hood liner. Get cheap belts up front, run more expensive hd green belts later when you know every thing is aligned. I had a YSI blower on one of my cars. Thing drove perfectly fine, a few hundred...

Progress Thread And so it begins....

If you only ran in to a few problems/delays, you're a lucky guy. The nightmares that builds can be. You rarely find people bring honest and candid about all the issues a long the way, especially vendors on different car forums. Can't wait to see the results.

What Ever Happened To The Good Ole Days?

Will, mine did 9.6, driving to the track with the top down, no skinnies, and no wheel tire changes. No bias plys, just drag radials, and a 600 round trip drive to the river house after 4 back to back 9.6-9.8 passes, but I did add 5 psi in the rears for the highway. Here was our car groups last...

What Ever Happened To The Good Ole Days?

FI or go home. Doesn't matter what size motor, I've never seen a DD car that somebody drives everyday, all motor and fast these days. I'm talking not what passes a street car car class, but a car you open the doors, get in, crank up the AC and drive across the country on radials and pump gas...

Haven't Been Too Active Lately, But I'm Checking Out

I've never left here. Shoot, I grew up with 2v's and owned 3 of them. That car is beautiful, love the blue. You will be back, whether in a new stang or other performance car. I give it 8-10 months.
