Why Can't I stop My 351w From Dieseling (Engine Runon)

Yeah could be that too. I can't find one anywhere though. I do think my PCV valves need replacing though. I've got pressure coming out of the dipstick tube.

Dang I was hoping you had your stang running by now. Wish I was closer so I could help you get in there and solve this problem.

Why Can't I stop My 351w From Dieseling (Engine Runon)

I can tell you that I have tried retarding the timing and that had no effect. I don't expect my engine to have much carbon in it at 6000 or so miles, but that could be it. I also have tried higher octane fuel and that seems to lessen the dieseling a bit. Tried leaning out the fuel mixture and...

Why Can't I stop My 351w From Dieseling (Engine Runon)

:D Yeah that works. I didn't get out to check the power to the coil last night but will find time tonight to check and let you know what I find.

Why Can't I stop My 351w From Dieseling (Engine Runon)

Something I have been trying to fix, but failed is once my engine is warmed up and I turn off the key it keeps running. I have readjusted my timing, air fuel mixture, swapped distributor, installed a new electronic ignition, and just fooled around with stuff. The dieseling remains...

    Rocker Arms Ratio

I bought new pushrods when I put that motor together. Yeah it's a roller block. It idles fairly well. This time around I wanted to go with a milder setup looking to increase my mileage. Didn't really improve much though. If I were to mill the heads I bet I could bump up my mileage and power...

    Rocker Arms Ratio

My springs should be fine. I know they worked with a much higher lift comp 268x cam before. I went with the Trick Flow Stage 1 cam that gives .499/.510 with 1.6 roller rockers. The higher ratio rockers will open the valves quicker and bump up the lift to what?

    Tremec 3550 Can't Find shift into 1st and 2nd

I pulled my shifter out of my car and could immediately see the problem. The socket the shifter fits into on the selector shaft in the the transmission is cracked, and the set screw in it had backed out. I don't know what to do about it being cracked, but I got the socket back to the...

    Rocker Arms Ratio

I've got a set of roller rockers on my 351w that are a bit worn with like 80 thousand miles on them. They need to be replaced and I'm thinking about replacing them with a set of 1.7 ratio roller rockers. Do you think I will have clearance issues? Is it worth the gain in lift?

Need suggestions and advice on modding a 351w

Aluminum heads are worth the weight savings. I really like my old setup with mildly ported 89 GT heads, comp cams 268x cam and weiand stealth manifold. I think I was running round 10.5:1 compression. Awesome combo, but no where near a 12 second motor. I've been entertaining the idea of building...

    Clutch Release Problem?

I agree. I'm using a Ram Muscle car clutch on my 73 stang. 700 or so miles of excellent performance so far.

    Clutch Release Problem?

You know what, I've got a used MC and Slave cylinder from when I replaced those parts in my hydraulic clutch setup. I actually had a problem with my clutch that caused all sorts of other problems. I thought it might be my MC or Slave cylinder that was worn, and the slave was leaking a little...

    Clutch Release Problem?

It such a pain, and expensive to replace a clutch that your best bet is to first put together a hydraulic clutch system to see if that's where the problem lies. Course that's just my opinion. If your clutch is indeed bad for whatever reason then you will have spent money and not fixed the problem.

    351 windsor in a 1971 mach 1?

I've got a 94 351w roller block in my 73 mustang bolted to a Tremec 3550 5 speed. Seems to work well. I got the block from Remanufactured Engines by City Motor Supply - Domestic and Import for like 750 with the core charge and shipping. WAY CHEAP!!! The engine has a stage 1 Trick Flow cam and...
