    I have not had one apart for a while, But if my memory is correct when you dissasemble your cluster there is a small circuit board or chip that is part of your digital odometer. that needs swapped over to your cobra cluster then your car will start.

    assuming it has jelcoat, sand it with 400 grit to 600 grit sandpaper. Do not sand through-you just need to create scratches for adhesion. Once it's dull, it's good enough to paint.

    Problem with installing tune

    I think you will need to remove the computer to see if there is a chip installed. I do not remember being able to see the top of the computer with it in the car. It will have a black cover installed if there is no chip. very easy to do, just make sure to disconnect the battery to be safe.

    That looks like a tamper proof torx bolt. Not sure on the size maybe about a t27. You can just buy a cheap set of torx bits. just make sure there is a hole in the center of them.THat is what makes them tamper proof.

    98 GT Instrument Cluster

    The temp gauge will not work if you install a 96-97 cluster in a 98. There are two wires on the temp circuit that need to be swapped. But you should be able to use the gauges or speedo from the 96-97 on your cluster if your circuit board is ok.

    Just replace the sensor they are common to go out on all types of ford vehicles. Very easy to do. You will need to clear the code after replacing.

    On the 94-95 cars you can jump a connecter under the glove box to retrieve the code. But they are obd1. Not sure if 96 has a way to do that without using a scan tool on the obd2 connecter.
