13" Brembo rotors - Min thickness

:stupid: I'm thinking that when the tech sees them he'll throw them back at the guy that said they can do it.

13" Brembo rotors - Min thickness

I've always thought that slotted or drilled rotors can't be turned b/c the slots/holes will damage the cutting bit on the lathe.

Coil Pack Bolts, where to find them?

I ended up matching up a bolt/washer from the nut-n-bolt drawers @ work (which you can do at a hardware store). About a year ago I tried to get 2 and I believe they were on backorder (which is why I used the stuff @ work), although now might be a different story. The price at the dealership was...

    Tire Size with 18X9 Rims

:stupid: If you want to get specific, go to Tire Rack and select a couple different tires then click on the "Specs" tab...it will show you everything you need to know about every size and brand in order to put this puppy to rest...

Bullit Calipers Paint or Get New Ones

I had mine off to do pads and rotors anyway. Since you're painting over powder coating and should sand them down I would definately take them off so you don't miss a spot or 2 that might turn up later down the road.

Hehe look what I get to drive!

Ya know, I've driven the new S8 and S6 (not RS6), both with the V-10 and I've gotta say that the RS6 you've got there is MUCH better. The new ones have some nicer do-dads and the sound of winding out a V-10 is very unique but the older ones are just tough. The flared fenders, the carbon fiber...

Bullit Calipers Paint or Get New Ones

I'd mask the pony off and use a fine tipped knife (exacto) to cut around it. While you're at it, throw some paint on the caliper bracket. I just did mine 'cause that black was starting to fade and looked like a$$... BTW, you will need to sand the current paint for whatever your new paint...

Probily the stupidest thing i have seen

I loved his demo in his Supra close to the end. A) you couldn't hear it, B) he immediately went left of center on a double yellow line, C) he ran a stop sign and D) he almost hit a parked car as well as one pulling onto the street when he was performing B and C. :rlaugh:

Steeda ball joint or Cobra control arms?

Just curious, what about these from Ford Racing? They're a little cheaper and I have yet to get anything bad from FRPP. Anyone have any experience with these?

    Advice on Changing Brakes

I personally have it and love it. I just said that b/c Silvergto2 isn't interested in the upgrade and from the sounds of it his extensive use of the search button (gotta salute him for that :nice: ) has come up with a million threads that eventually suggest that he do the upgrade.

    Advice on Changing Brakes

    1. I agree with San~man: OEM pads work just fine. Ceramic pads are also known to not dust much. You can visit this Tire Rack link and check out the reviews on the different brands. 2. Rent the tool from Auto Zone/Advance Auto. 3. I use ATE brake fluid, but most any DOT 3/4 is fine...

    AC SUX HP

You'd better copywrite that before Granatelli slaps their name on it and makes it their newest p-mod.

    Gator belt?

Are you putting tension on the tensioner (same thing you had to do to get the belt off)?

    Gator belt?

A mistake I've made on many a belt....make sure that it is completely seated on the bottom pullies. It can easily move over on ya while you're try getting it on the other pullies and end up sitting on the edge of one instead of in the grooves.

    AC SUX HP

The drop in power on the Stang bugs me, but then I think back to my first car ('84 Rabbit diesel ~ 48bhp BEFORE the compressor kicked on) and how friends would laugh when I turned the A/C off just so I could make it thru a traffic intersection...

    Tires

Kumhos aren't bad, but they don't wear very long. I have personally had very good luck with BFG G-Force Sport (summer) and Continental Conti Extreme Contact (hi-speed rating, directional all season).

    1998 Audi A4 turbo vs. 2000 GT

Even though the chip WILL add quite a bit of power (those engines are VERY electronically controlled which allows chips to increase the engine's performance a lot more that our SOHC Ford engines) it is a '98 which makes it an AEB engine code which is VW's first stab at the 1.8T. In it's time and...
