    Mallory Unilite module

    For what it's worth I picked up a pertronix module yesterday and the instructions say that as long as there is at least 1.5 ohms at the coil you do not need a resistor. Not sure if this correlates to the mallory unit, just thought I'd add my .02$.

    Power Steering Question

    The centering is controlled by a spring in the control valve. I don't know how the steering wheel could keep turning without stopping. That might be something in the box. So the power steering was installed in the car when it was two years old? Is it a stock setup?

    Coil location?

    Mine's on the manifold too. I remember someone telling me that the heat in that area can make them fail faster, so that is why some mount them other places. Anyone know if there is any truth to that?

    Toggle switch behind wiper knob?

    Is it under the dash or out in the open? If under the dash my vote would be a kill switch of some kind. I have heard that you can wire up the ignition like that as a security device. Not that I have one on my ride or anything :)

    GT350 and GT500 Sold at Auction (Pics)

    That's about 115k and 145k in USD, respectively. Funny that the 350 with the Paxton (which appears to be original) went for less than the 500 that has been converted to right hand drive. I would think the conversion would hurt the value considerably, but I guess when you're driving on the...

    You can ask me how I know too. If you think it will look like crap welded on, imagine what it looks like after several big holes have been ripped out of the frame rail. Edit: Oh and Dan, I'm pretty sure the bracket I have is steel.

    Paint? Wow that's fancy. I insulated and sheetrocked a 40 year old garage this summer. That took so long I don't think I'm even gonna bother taping it... Maybe next summer. Although those GT stripes do look nice....

    68 Needs Repair Any Advise?

    Not to be smarta$$, but why would anyone buy a car in that condition? Also, if you are smelling gas you probably shouldnt be driving it around. There is a large rubber hose that connects the filler tube to the tank, that is probably what is leaking. My 68 was rearended in a similar fashion...

    Power booster or stay with manual brakes??

    I went from drum to brake and just changed spindle out. I didnt even change the proportioning valve or master cyl and it is WAY better than the drums ever were. The wife still isnt allowed to drive it becuase of a power steering issue, but I would imagine she could handle it now.
