    Do Torque Converters break in?

Doesn't sound right....maybe your transmission is slipping from the higher strain of launching with the higher stall converter? Check your fluid level, and smell it. If it smells burnt your fluid got too hot, and your clutches maybe slipping.

69/70 owners - which overdrive transmission?

I heard you only have to "modify" the trans tunnel if you're going to use a 6speed trans. I would like to convert to a 5 speed as well. I currently have a c4 and when I get my 3.73s I'm going to want OD. I started making a list of all the parts I'll need and unless I can find a donor car that...

Code 77 and can't run CBT.

As the title says. I get a code 77 even though I goose the throttle, and I can't run the cylinder balance test. I checked my TPS and it's .92-4.55. The only other codes I'm getting are 91/41 (system lean).

    69 302 8 or 9 inch rear?

I have a 1969 Mustang that originally had a 302 V2. I just read an old "Hot Rod" magazine article, and it said that all 67-73 Mustangs with a 302 or larger engine came standard with the 9". I thought it was optional on the small blocks, and standard on the boss and big blocks. Can someone...

    Idle broken after exhaust install

To whom it may concern. I replaced the BAP today so no more code 22. I'm starting to think my computer is bad. I noticed my fuel pump was making a lot of weird noises, like it was losing power. When I tried to start the enigne the FP clicked on for 1sec (like it should), but when I tried to...

    Idle broken after exhaust install

Now I'm pretty sure its a heat related problem. :bang: :bang: I let the car cool down and restarted it. It ran fine for about 10min of idling, and about 15min of driving. After that It started missing again. I'm pretty sure that the computer reached closed-loop before it started missing...

    Idle broken after exhaust install

UPDATE: Well my BARO sensor came from Schucks (Karagan) as a TPS (right box, wrong part). So I wasn't able to replace that today. So I decided to check my plugs. I found that #1 plug had a pice of carbon stuck between the tip and the electrode. The rest are white at the tip with black sooty...

    Idle broken after exhaust install

Is My Computer Fried? Ok here's the problem. My car has a miss at idle. It started after I got it home from putting exhaust on it, and letting it sit for an hour or so. If the car is moving faster then 3MPH its fine, otherwise it misses like crazy. I found out it will only to this while its...

    Which Muffler ?

I just put Magnaflows on my 69 that has a EFI 5.0. I'm running Hooker longtubes @ 2.5" with an O/R H-pipe, and dumps under the axle. I've only had the car one day to rate my exhaust because the starter went out (longtubes are hot! ). My first impressions are...quiet, very quiet. I...

    '70 gauge replacement

When I get the money, I'm going for Dakota Digital gauges. I don't necessarily like the digital look, but I do like how the fuel/tach/speedo all can be recalibrated. So if you get a set of 4.11s or change your wheel size, you don't have to change speedo gears.

    Braided vs. Rubber Fuel Lines

One problem with rubber hose is if you run it through a hole in the sheet metal, it can cut the hose. Plus some people don't think rubber hose looks as nice. You could try Spectre's braided hose sleeving. It should protect it fairly well.
