Since JME's setup is now $1,100.00 I'm looking elsewhere for replacement gauges. Anyone looked into these gauges yet?
I know you have to send them your original cluster in but it's $500 less then JME's.
I've since converted to EFI. I decided to let the computer recurve the advance for me. :D
One thing I did notice when it was carbed. Was if it was on ported vacuum i would get a surge of power at 1500 RPMs. If it was on full vac. it was smoother.
I don't see how having it on manifold...
Well I had a 302 in my 69 and the c4's shift points at WOT were at a low 4500 rpm (because of the rail-rockers I guess). MPH was:
1-2 @35-40
2-3 @55-60
Keep in mind that I have a 2.73 rear.
I don't think the transmission would cause a rod bearing to fail. Its more likely a stretched rod...
I'm not sure about this, but I think you can get a engine harness for a non-HO 5.0. since they use the non 351/HO firing order.
Batch firing is when all the injectors on one side of the engine fire at once, then the other side fires all at once.
I'm looking into swapping a 8.8 to replace my 8" 2.73 open. I've heard of people doing this with no problems. On the other hand I've heard that the yoke is off center. I know that I'll have to remount the spring perches to 43". Will I have to modify the axle tubes to make it fit? What else will...
Put me on the list
I would be interested in the radio bezel too, but i still want to keep my vent/fan controls down below. My email is [email protected]
For people who want more gauges. Would it be possible to fab a gauge cluster for the A-pillar?
When I first test drove my car I was with my dad and complained about the brakes not working right. Then I said it must be because of the manuel brakes, and that I would like to switch to power brakes. He said "You can't be a pu**y and drive one of these old cars. One year later after I bought...
The kickdown is a linkage from the carb to the transmission. It is actuated at WOT to tell the transmission to downshift to 1st gear.
As for the flexplate, the 5.0/AOD uses a 50oz/164tooth where as the 302/C4 uses a 28.oz/157 tooth. Since you're going to use a 5.0/c4 you'll need a 50.oz/157...
One thing you'll have to work out is the C4s kickdown for use with the TB. I'm trying to make it work on my EFI conversion, I'm planning on making my own bracket to kickdown the trans. at WOT.
You'll also need a 50oz/157tooth flexplate.
If you use the stock 69 hose the belt tensioner gets in the way, and the stock late model hose is too small at the radiator end. Plus the early thermostat housing has a 45 degree bend, vs. the latemodels 90 degree bend.
