    Smog-Pump Eliminator Kit?? Yes/No??

Agreed. Don't know why this guys lists the 4.6 but he hasn't got anything you need. My car does have a smog pump, but its electronic and not belt driven.

Do they sell low-compression pistons for the modular 4.6???

I have an extremely hard time accepting this statement at face value. I don't believe you can possibly force 19# injectors to support 500 rwhp, nor do I believe any 2V can possibly make 500 rwhp on only 6# of boost. Particularly not when the blower is parasitically eating horsepower. Given that...

    Cobra coolent circulation

Well, in that case my first thought is that you've got an air bubble or two in your system. The Cobra owners manual gives a specific order of operations for filling the coolant system in order to avoid bubbles. When the car is cold, you should make sure that the overflow tank cap is off and then...

    Prolly a Stupid Question, but...

No. That's as solid as it gets. You can strap similar Eaton blowers to 2V heads (Saleen and Roush do it every day), but the Cobra-specific unit it designed to mate up with the 4V heads. The 2V geometry isn't the same.

    Cobra coolent circulation

??? I don't understand your problem? What gives you reason to believe the coolant is not circulating? Have you noticed abnormally high engine temps? Why would you expect the problem (if there actually is one) to be a result of the crossover tube instead of something more common like a bad...

    cobra pistons in a 2v?

I agree with several things said above. First, that the Cobra pistons and rods are the same as GT spec until you get to the 2003/4 Cobra. Second, that at 12 psi and 430ish rwhp your shortblock is on borrowed time.

Dynoed the car today (while the stereo was ON)!! *graph inside*

14.7 is optimal for economy, but not necessarily optimal for making power. There is no defined 'perfect' A/F ratio, as it will depend on the car, level of modification, and willingness to remove engine operational safety margin. Most folk find that 12.5- 13 works well for N/A applications.

WHAT KINDA HP CAN BE EXPECTED??

This one is different. In the first one he said he had no idea how much power the car makes, except that it dynoed at 324 hp to the flywheel. This one he talks as though the parts are not yet in his possession, instead of already running in his car. Totally different thread.

    QUESTION ABOUT HP RATINGS

Am I missing something here. 324 is a helluva specific number, compared to ''I have no clue'

PI 2V = teh lose, to put it in terms the kids understand these days. 225-230 rwhp stock, against 255-260 rwhp stock. I'm sure lots of folks will want to bust out the old anecdotes about their friend who went from a roll on the interstate, or their brother who raced one yada yada yada... I'm...

    Mufflas vs Da Pipes

This is kind of like arguing between Splitfires and Bosch +4s. The performance gain from both together is not much, so dividing the small amount into fractions isn't worth the effort to find out. Nice sig, though.

    QUESTION ABOUT HP RATINGS

Where did this engine come from? I find it completely implausible that someone had a fully built engine put into this car and no dyno tuning was performed to ensure that it was running optimally. Nobody drop that much money on a motor and skips a few hundred on a dyno tune. This post...

$6000 for mods. what u suggest?

I'm considered enough of a wet blanket as it is without jumping on this soapbox, but I agree 100% with this statement. I remember being 18, and 20, and 22 and I never had money to modify the car at those ages. I did contribute to Roth IRAs at that time. I'm 25 now, and have slowly been able to...

How can you raise your engine's redline?

More importantly, you need to remember that raising redline (or rather, building an engine that can safely rev higher) is only important if it helps the engine make power. A stock 2V 4.6L Ford engine is done making power by about 5500 RPM. Installing a trick valvetrain might allow you to spin it...

wheels spacers, good idea or no???

If you need to go that thick, you would be foolish to go with anything except the Maximum spacer. $75 saved is not worth risking your life on an inferior product.

Need help HOPPIN up my 98 COBRA

Please defend this statement. Post some before and after dynos. Post some other combinations and power levels. Post something to back this up. This is contradictory to everything I know about cars. I picked up ~30-35 rwhp from the LTs, O/R X and a tune. Stock catback. 2.25" pipes and stock...

Need help HOPPIN up my 98 COBRA

I've got a 98 with what I would consider very few bolt-ons. Its got 3.73s, a full WMS intake system with Pro-M MAF, Steeda underdrive pulleys, and BBK longtube headers feeding a Dr. Gas X-pipe. Thats about $1400 in parts cost (or thereabouts) and the car is making right at 300 rwhp. A stock...

    Big wheels = HP loss?

To put a finer point on the tech, going to a larger wheel doesn't necessarily add rotating mass. An 18 inch aluminum wheel can be lighter than a 15 inch steel wheel. However, the moment of inertia is proportional to the distance of the mass from the axis of rotation. An 18 inch rim has a...

    Panhard without Torque Arm?

Remove the quad shocks with the UCAs after the TA is installed. The quad shocks are used to combat wheel hop which happens when the UCAs bind under hard acceleration. With no bind under axle twist using the T/A, there would be no need for quad shocks.
