Roush Met Steve Saleen in Albuquerque - Neighbor Bought the '05 Berrylium S7

Well, I finally got to meet Mr. Saleen yesterday. He was here in Albuquerque for the 45 Anniversary of the Ford dealership here. Very down to earth a mellow guy he is - pretty cool! They brought the new S331 Sport Truck to show-off. Man! That truck just looks awesome! Now I need to get...

Roush Exhaust options for 05 S281

There's not any options that I'm aware of except Magnaflow (sotck system for the '06 Saleens). What I did was to install some Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers and weld the center exhaust up to the back of the mufflers. It looks like I have retained the factory set-up, but now I'm dumping the...

    Roush belt size

On my '01 I used a 111.5 and a 112 with minor belt slippage. Either belt is going to slip, though, with the smaller pulley. The smaller the better - I believe you should be able to fit a 111 on there.

Roush Dyno Results: '05 w/Vortech & Info. for Those Upgrading

Thanks for the info!! I feel better giong with something that has a proven record. I think I'll be ordering the Spec II or III - still not sure between the two, but atleast I have narrowed it down to the brand. The internals - I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the rods and crank are not...

Roush Dyno Results: '05 w/Vortech & Info. for Those Upgrading

I'm not sure of the rating for that pump, but the GT manages to use a the single pump to handle 450 rwhp. I also know that several '05 guys here are putting out over 500 rwhp using the single GT pump. If I had to guess, it would have to be somewhere around 300 lph or more.

Roush Dyno Results: '05 w/Vortech & Info. for Those Upgrading

My pulley size is 3.5. The pulley that came on the car that was to deliver the 9 lbs. was 3.75 (I think). As far as the internal gearing on the Supercharger, I can't say right now because I just don't know. The internal gearing seems to vary from application to application. Regarding the...

Roush Dyno Results: '05 w/Vortech & Info. for Those Upgrading

The pulley I installed on the blower is intended to put down 11 lbs./boost at sealevel. The actual /effective boost we are seeing at our altitude varies between 7 & 8 Lbs. The guy that tuned my car is a highly reputable guy in the southwest (Ryan at SpeedDreams in ALbuquerque, NM)). He has...

Roush Dyno Results: '05 w/Vortech & Info. for Those Upgrading

Thanks! I haven't been looking to install a returnless system to this point so I am not aware of what is available. I have a KB BAP on the way and I'm ordering a Ford GT fuel pump today and haven't decided on rails yet. Is anyone aware of a good end-to-end fule system that would support...

    Roush Nitrous On S281SC

I have seen import cars as well as many domestic cars get well over 100 rwhp on the dyno with 25-50 shots of NOS. If you want to see a cobra on the dyno testing a 50 shot of NOS and blowing the manifold off, go to streetfire.net and do a search for "cobra notrous manifold". I agree with the...

    Roush tuning question

Todd, I replied to the private message you sent in which I answered all the questions you asked except one. Did you receive it? What I didn't answer was the size of belt I went to. I did have to install a smaller belt. I believe it was a 111.5 or 112. The smaller the better because I...

Roush Dyno Results: '05 w/Vortech & Info. for Those Upgrading

I just finished a round of dyno testing & tuning after I installed the Vortech V2 S-Trim on the S281 N/A. I'll post the dyno graph as soon as I receive it through the e-mail. In the mean time here is a summary: Stock '05 S281-N/A Vortech V2 S-Trim 39# Injectors Flowmaster Super 40...

    Roush tuning question

Hey Todd, My answers to your questions are in the order they were asked: -The blower pulley was purchased from Chicane. - The pulley almost doubled, but not quite, my boost. That made a big difference for me because I'm at over a mile above sea-level and wasn't making more than 5-6 lbs...

    Roush tuning question

I used the XCal II on my '01 SC and on my '05 NA that I just supercharged. The mods I had on the '01 S/c car are as follows: Chicane RIPP Kit 66 MM Blower Pulley Ported & Polished Blower MAFterburner Stage 1 3:73 Gears Magnaflow Stainless Exhaust w/ High FLow Cats ( 2 Cats) The mods...

    Roush tuning question

IMO, SCT XCal II is the way to go. The device can retain your original Saleen tune if you ever need to return your car to stock (no other tuner can read the Saleen tune which forces you to loose your stock tune and, in most cases, get a stock GT flask/tune before you can begine to use their...

Roush Adding supercharger to 2005 S281

I forgot to add one thing yesterday. A guy who owns a speed shop here in town did the pulley upgrade (8 Lbs. boost) to his stock '05 SC and a tune and dyno'd at just over 400 rwhp.

Roush Adding supercharger to 2005 S281

I just installed a Vortech V-2 S-Trim on my '05 S281-N/A last week. I highly recommend the Vortech over the Saleen blower. The 2005 Stock S281 SC's are making around 380-390 to the rear wheels and I'm probably going to make 505 rwhp with just the Vortech kit (the numbers were from a magazine...

Roush Does the Flow Rating of the Focus Pump = 143lph@80 PSI?

Based on my math and the information I have gathered from KB, a single Focus pump is capable of supporting 30# injectors. Now, I have been told by several tuners that the SVT Focus pump is capable of supporting my Vortech V2 S-Trim @ 9lbs which which translates into around 420-450 rwhp...

Roush Does the Flow Rating of the Focus Pump = 143lph@80 PSI?

Also, is the SVT Focus fuel pump on the '05 Saleens/Mustangs the same as previous Focus pumps?

Roush What is your opinion on the retro style fad

I'm actually pretty happy to see some more american muscle cars coming back. That'll give me more cars to spank on the streets - the Japanese & European cars are boring and not worth my gas and tire tread. On a serious note, though, the Camaro looks pretty good except for the cheesy front...
