    new balancer

Go rent a balancer puller and don't forget to get a new crank seal from your local Ford Dealer cost like $20 or so, and use a seal puller to get the old one out, because you don't want to damage the aluminum housing. Good luck. P.S. It is also handy to have a breaker bar long enough so that...

    quick question about rocker arms

I totally agree with you 100%. It is a shame that we buy parts THINKING! that they are emissions friendly since they carry a C.A.R.B. exemtion No. to only find out in a few years that your C.A.R.B exempt parts are "Not legal for sale or use in California on any pollution controlled motor...

    I need some diagnostic advise

It only occurs while driving and not at idle. The engine has 160K. It's So funny that you mention the header gaskets I too thought that might be a possibility but the ticking only occured after the failure of the harmonic balancer which lead me to target the valvetrain. I think youve made...

    I need some diagnostic advise

Already did the steathascope deal and the ticking noise seems to be coming from the passenger side more than the drivers side valve cover. Even checked all the plugs for proper gap or possible fouling  Thanks for suggesting to check the water pump but mine is working fine.

    I need some diagnostic advise

I recently had a harmonic balancer go out on me, I've since replaced it with a Pioneer balancer and I've been hearing a ticking noise? I adjusted my timing which didn't solve the problem and have since bought a set of Crane 1.7 "Cobra Rockers" and FMS hardened push rods since I thought I may...

1.7 Rockers on a stock motor

I've actually got a set of the Crane 1.7 "Cobra Rockers" waiting to be installed but I am still a little confused about which valve cover gasket to get? I've done the "Search" to see what others have used and there are so many different answers. I want to use the OEM metal style for my stock 89...

    quick question about rocker arms

If you are referring to the Crane 1.7 "Cobra Rockers" (44746-16) they ARE emissions legal. I have a set and they have been granted with a C.A.R.B. E.O. No. which is D-225-17 and if you are referring to the cam then that's another story.

Can i Lower My STANG? and do Convertibles use different Springs

Definately get springs made SPECIFICALLY for a vert!!! The reason I say so is that our verts have been somewhat reinforced straight from the factory (windshield area, body bracing) to protect us in the event of a roll-over. This reinforcement results in added weight up front that is why...

Do I need a new Master Cylinder with 73MM calipers?

Could you please send me the "math" Because I'm not understanding the advise that's being passed around on this thread. I'm currently running a pair of 73MM SVO Calipers up front with Hawk HPS pads and MM Brake Caliper Sleeves with absolutely NO problems? I drive approx 20miles to work which is...
