Lets talk about a clutch install:

A clutch swap is basically unbolting a bunch of stuff, and then bolting it all back up again. One person can do it easily. Since it's your first time, give yourself a weekend to do it in. Some stuff can catch you unawares - my header to H pipe nuts were rusted solid - broke the stud getting them...

fuel pump always runs, drag racing input

The fuel pump relay as others above indicated is a common problem for the pump t keep running. I had mine go out - didn't realise it at first, until the battery was dead the next morning. Turned out to be the relay - it took me a few days until I could swing by the autoparts store - so to get...

Need Help ! Trick flow top end kit problems

First thing I would do before going back to the dyno is toss the C&L and get the PMAS you linked to above. These threads pop up quite frequently with guys running C&Ls. Also 30# injectors might be a little large for the combo - they might be contributing to some of your problems as well - I know...

    custom cams for a 347

The bitterness of a cheap product lingers longer than the sweet taste of a cheap price. (I went with Jay Allen @ camshaftinnovations.com)

    Drag Radials..prices?

For all round street tire that hooks and is fine in the rain, can't beat Nitto drag radials. I used to run crappy Falkens Ziex - what a load of crap - difference between those and the Nittos is like night and day - very good compromise between street and strip.

    3.73 pinion depth??

I've done my rear end - its really not that hard if you take your time. I did not use a pinion depth tool to figure out the pinion shim thickness - instead I reused the stock pinion shim when I installed my 373s. Worked like a charm - they weren't 100% quiet - you could hear a slight noise at...

    Fuel Pressure what PSI?

39-40 is a good place to start. Those are big injectors for a 331 - may have some idling issues - have you thought about any engine management systems to help tune it?

    347 stroker help

You might want to post this in the 5.0 tech forum - likely will get more replies. The AFPR will typically not hold pressure after the engine is switched off if you have put in an aftermarket fuel pump. You should get a vacuum gauge and check your vacuum and go from there. I think your vacuum...

Brakestand wheel hop - (Vid Soon)

When you do the burnout, the car shouldn't be moving forward - get the revs up high enough, then sidestep the clutch and stand on the brake - if you still have drums on the back, the engine should have no problems overcoming them, then slowly lift off the brake until you have just enough brake...

    New engine, Knocking?

x2 - you may just have a leak at the header - try pulling plug wires one at a time, and see if you can isolate it to one cylinder. I had an exhaust leak, and I was convinced it was something seriously wrong - a real metal on metal sound - turned out to be a crappy BBK header gasket.

    Track questions.....racing tomorrow

You have some suspension mods, Nittos (although not drag radials), spinning the wheels in second, etc and only running a 15.59, seems like something is way out of whack. I would think a slushbox on chitty street tires with grandma driving could run better than that. I was under the impression...

    need help with dccontrol fan

I think your probe placement is fine - my DC Control probe is in the exact same location - low on the drivers side. I have my controller set to 180* and the controller keeps that needle right at 180 on my water temp gauge. The only suggestion I have is to double and triple check the jumper...

Bought an 88 LX 5.0 (pics)

How much to repaint - well to do it right, you are looking at an easy $5000. Of course, you could just take it to Maaco. To do my Mustang GT I am getting quotes all in the $5000 - and mine doesn't have a single spot of rust. With the rust on it, you will have to strip the car down to bare metal...

    Engine Blown?? Huge crack..pics..

I agree with the other posters - that crank is probably toast. The part of the timing cover that was busted off holds the front main seal. So its not like there is anything directly contacting this piece. So something had to hit it to knock a piece loose. Only things it could be would be a...

Pressing new pinion bearing on the pinion shaft

I doubt you could use the freezing/heating method for the pinion bearing. That method will work fine for putting the ring on, since once you have it started, you can pull it on with the ring bolts. You really should use a press to get the pinion bearing on. With regards to the shim ideally...

    H/C/I injector size??

How well is the car tuned? Do you have any datalogging on it with a Tweecer or a PMS? Or are you going off a dyno AF. Your AF ratio is determined by what your computer decides is the right amount of fuel to inject based on various inputs like ACT, mass air voltages, ECT, and TPS. Once you are in...
