    Throttle Body Size

GT40 "series" of intakes have 69mm-70mm TB throat. So, TB 65mm or 70mm , MAM 70mm to 76mm... I doubt larger would hurt but the 70/76 will fit the stock air box.

    Clutch Help

Staying frugal, I would do the Ram HDX... maybe power grip if slicks and 5k launches are in your future. Having said that... the McLeod RST twin is a beautiful thing, very light pedal and a tone of modulation... but... $$$. My Dads car has a Centerforce in it, the pedal is not bad and it is...

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

either way, back to the topic on hand... around these parts (Phoenix AZ), for the average Joe, it's bracket race or test and tune... the end. never been to the brackets, and test and tune is a poop-show... at least they do have a dedicated slicks'n'skinnies lane... but no one want s to be at the...

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

fear of death overcomes... - implies your fears got the best of you and you've dialed it back. thrill of speed overcomes... - implies the thrills never subsided, until you met your maker.

    Best Way To Blow 3k?????

street/strip... detroit true track. strip... and an occasional carefully scheduled run to the ice cream store... spool. with those 4.56's... and 10's as a goal... start budgeting for good a 4bolt block. also, at those rpms, it's going to be a lot cheaper/easier in the long run to go carb... I...

    Best Way To Blow 3k?????

If you are committed long term, and have goals of running down into the 10's... Cage, tq box reinforcing, axles, welded tubes, spool, driveshaft loop,Baseline adjustable upper/lower control arms(relocated uppers), strange adjustable shocks/struts. Dialed in with weigh reduction you've got a...

    My Apoligies To Ed Curtis

Oh heck, you got Ed to post here and when's the last time that happened? :). Agreed, harsh, opinions, we've all got them, and, sometimes we get a little passionate... It's too bad you have regrets, we've all been there.

New Here Looking For Some Great Advice!

that color is very interesting, "i" would leave it if it's in good shape. I'd also agree that if it's already got a 351 swap, "I'd" build on that rather than going back to a 302 based motor... unless you are going all out with an R or Dart block and going 363. Anxious for Thursday, keep us posted.

New Here Looking For Some Great Advice!

With no budget, no ET goals and drivability being subjective, it's hard to help. Having said that, looking at a light '85 with a 351 is certainly a good starting point for a street strip toy.

    Cam And Rpms??

Not the the B cam is know for aggressive lobes, but, I'm wondering what valve springs you are running? float/bounce? I believe the Bcam wants ~120lbs seat ~295lbs open... I think the original/older GT40x heads typically have 80-90lbs on the seat, and doubt that relates to 295 open. I would pull...

    Buying An Ed Curtis Cam

^^yep, that is why he has that section at the end of the form. All you have to do is take the time to tell/type him exactly what you want. I've never bought anything from him, yet, he's always responded to my correspondence... not always immediately of course, but certainly timely, at least IMO.

    Winter

So... when I first got my car, I was young and had very little money... I used to buy $500 beaters to run through winter... rainy days. My favorite was a '70 F150 with a 302 (asking $800, drove off for $500)... red, faded to pink, and rusted to heck... filled chicken feed bags full of sand and...

    Winter

When I lived up north my car rarely saw rain, never saw snow, and never came out in the spring till after we'd had a couple good rains to wash the salt away. These things are light weight, thin sheet metal structures... will not take much to get them eaten up. I moved to Phoenix Az... don't even...

    Buying An Ed Curtis Cam

Billet for high spring pressures and high rpm, otherwise no need to venture past austemper. My Dad's custom, and my first custom are/were both austemper with hydro lifters and 6200rpm life... 140lbs/350lbs-ish springs. My current is billet, solid roller and pretty good street springs...
