    IMHO an aftermarket dizzy won't show much gain if at all over the stock unit, since they both use a not-so-great Hall-effect sensor design (magnetic pickup) which does not produce a perfect square wave pattern like an optical pickup would. I certainly wouldn't pay 2-3 times the price of a reman...

Before you take yours out, set the rotor in place and mark on the distributor body where the center of the rotor lines-up with a sharpy marker or a grease pencil. If you want you can also mark the bottom of the distributor shaft where it goes...

    There shouldn't be much movement in there at all. Did you see any little metal dust particles in the bottom of the distributor bowl? Looks like the distributor bushing might be worn-out. That, or the distributor gear. I'd take-out the dizzy for better inspection, it only takes about 10 minutes...

    So many types of wheels look good on that color. I'd just stay away from black, I think natural/machined/sliver/anthocite/hypercoat/chrome in FR500, '03 Cobra, or even 00' Cobra R would look sweet. Chrome Saleens look amazing on that color as well.

    I did the same thing last year, was still a major PITA with that special socket though, there's hardly any room to turn it. I want to **** on the engineer who put it there.

    Check your spark plug wires, every single time I've had similar problems, it has been related to improper plug/wire boot contact or just bad wires. Try having the car idle in a pitch-black location at night, open the hood and spray a mist of water and look for any arcing.

    I hate that brace, it was a PITA to take-off and put-back on to do a header swap. But I drove without it for about 3 weeks before I put it back on, and didn't notice any difference in handling with or without it. I'm sure it has saved my oil pan a few times though. But leave it off, you'll be fine.
