    Premium Fuel?

Unlike the Mach1 and Cobra from 2004, the 2005 Mustang GT is an 87 octane car. Then again, it is still the entry level V8, it should run on regular!

    I want this one.

Ford tape stripes, dealer installed, only cover the hood, roof, and rear down over the trunk lid. They do NOT cover the rear of the car below the trunk lid. They do NOT cover the front of the car below the top grille. They look pretty lame, especially from the rear of the car.

Invoice is set by Ford. MSRP is set by Ford, both are very well known numbers. build your own car at www.cudirect.com or through your favorite credit union and you will see both prices.

    Brake size diffrences

Well, why are you worried about the brakes? Your current wheels have a different offset than that required for the '05. They will look like they were ordered from a cheap catalog...

    California GTs?

Nope. My dealer says ETA 11/2, but I'm not holding my breath.

    How can they do this?

37ford- Like I said, I orderd my '05 on July 22nd, and didn't get a VIN until Oct 9th. Some people ordered in June and had a VIN in July. What you need to ensure is that you have a DORA number, and that your dealer can fax you a Status on that DORA. Lack of a DORA means that you have no...

    How can they do this?

fr96ss- Why would I cancel my deal at invoice-plus-2% to wait for one to come on a truck? 37ford- Anyhow, if a dealer is getting stock before you get your order, so be it. It's a relationship between you and the dealer. Did you order yours in May? The dealer PROBABLY DID and he's been waiting...

    VIN number assignment - When?

You can get a VIN assigned earlier, but the system isn't perfect. I had no schedule and no VIN a week or so ago, and then I got a VIN and a schedule of 10/11 (build this week) over this weekend. I now have an ETA of 11/2. So you can get a VIN very late and still accelerate right to a...

    STEEDA MUSTANG AT FORD SHOW

Horrible.... - Raised bulge hood, with NOTHING under the hood that uses or requires it. - Crappy looking rear wing. - Yellow paint on the honeycombed lower non-functional intakes. Now you can see they are non-functional. It's a riced-out mustang. Steeda rushed it to market, and...

    GFG Wheels Project 05

30 series tires. Great for pictures, great for tracks, great for sitting at stop lights. Wouldn't want to use them on a daily driver. Not only will they be harsh, but I'd have to worry about every little pothole in the road. Sorry, too extreme for my '05. Looks great, though.

Anyone getting X-price and if so what is the price?

Sorry, I should say X-plan-similar. X-plan on the mustang works out to be about $50 over invoice. I agreed to a price "not to exceed 2% over invoice" and am willing to pay the $450 over X-Plan due to the pleasant experience (i.e. no haggling) I had with the dealer, and the fact that I am not...

Anyone getting X-price and if so what is the price?

I got X-plan equivalent pricing by searching around through different dealers. Deal with the Internet/Fleet manager, ask about X-Plan, and if they confirm that you don't have it (my case), then make the case that you can get invoice+plus pricing from other dealers, but want to work with this...

    x-plan...is this true

I am no longer X-plan (I no longer work for the company that had X-plan), but I got a similar price anyhow. I called the first dealer, they said they weren't taking orders (July). I called the second dealer, talked to the Internet/Fleet sales guy. He said they are taking orders. I basically...

    Livernois Dynoes '05 Mustang GT

For $10K you can buy a motorcycle that will crush every production street car in the world in any test of acceleration or braking. So why would you buy a 2004 Cobra? Maybe because you want a vehicle with different characteristics than a motorcycle, and maybe acceleration isn't everything...

Some clarification on MT's 05 GT track test

For the hard core racers, Ford Racing parts sells a close ratio version of the 5spd, which (with 4.10's or higher numerical) would allow you to pull strong and fast through 4 gears in a 1/4 mile, rather than stretching out 3 gears and have the 3-4 shift come at/near the end of the 1/4.

Here is what the 05 Mustang GT REALLY runs

Hey, Troll: You don't even know what the definition of a "sports car" is! We're supposed to LISTEN to you! :rlaugh: This site has NOTHING TO DO WITH SPORTS CARS. Well, maybe the Ford GT, but that's an exotic sports car. Name the American sports cars available today. Then the...

Nov. issue of Motor Trend: Auto GT goes 13.6 @ 99

Tall 4th and 5th gears, and it runs into redline in 3rd before the end of the quarter. Makes me wonder if I should go up to 4.10's and shift in 4th early and pull hard all the way through the end of the quarter, rather than having a 3-4 shift too close to the end...

Who wants to see the pictures I took today of the 2005 Mustang GT? (56K Killer!)

Yes, well, sort of An entry level V8 Mustang in 1965 was under $3000. Corrected for inflation, that would be about $17000 in 2004. With that 1965 Mustang, you got a 200hp (SAE Gross) 2 barrel with a 3spd manual. The 2005 V6 Mustang exceeds that entry level V8 in the following terms...

    Hallibrand style wheels 18"/19"

Well, the Hallibrand is closer to the original Halibrands, which were magnesium, not polished or chromed. But it's about what YOU want, not what others suggest. It will take a few months for lots of choices to become available.
