40 Series Mufflers hurt Virginian ears...

You may be right tjh566. I was in front of a State Trooper yesterday and she paid me no mind. It is loud though. Almost ashamed to start it up in the morning (JK) for fear of waking up my neighbors.

any way to do away with abs

With the way our cars stop and more power added to the car, I really don't think the weight of the ABS unit makes that much difference (prolly 15 lbs.). With the 347 in my car, it still has a hard time stopping in a hurry with drilled/slotted rotors and good pads. When I bought the car though...

    OK guys, mechanically challenged here...

Just got an e-mail back from Brad at Summit. He seems to think that the heads are too much for the build. That just doesn't sound right at all to me.

40 Series Mufflers hurt Virginian ears...

All, Within the last three days, my daughter-in-law has been pulled over 3 times for her glasspack on a POS Acura. The police tell her that the muffler cannot be any louder than stock in VA or it is deemed defective. My beast is twice as loud as her rice-burner. So here is the deal...I...

Man I just got SMOKEby an '98 Camaro LS1

drakesdad and Matt, I AM stationed at Little Creek, and the only thing I ever received from Emporia on my trip through was a 70 in a 55, LOL. And a good laugh at Elliot Sadler when he did the stage dive this year, ROFL.

    OK guys, mechanically challenged here...

Alright, (Grady, this is carry on BTW), the engine builder of the car said he never ported the lower intake, and that that cam that he put in the car should peak around 5800-6000 anyway. They are the TFI Track Heat Upper and Lower's and Victor Jr. heads which should be plenty. Could the...

    Fog lights not working

also check the condition of your light sockets. You may have had a wire break off and that would break the continuity.

No brake lights or blinkers- What could it be!!!

Obviously my stock coil was degraded

I think some of you probably remember my question about whether the MSD coil would make a noticeable difference, and I got mixed reviews. Well, I went ahead and got the Moroso Pro-HO coil (for dress up purposes), FRPP 9mm cables, and a Summit Dizzy Cover and Rotor Button. It definitely changed...

Vibration at 80mph+ since gear install.

I would definitely change the u-joints. They're cheap considering... If the car has a lot of miles and you never have changed them, they are probably getting close to finished.

    Electrical Help

You can also check to make sure you don't have a trunk or hood light that is stuck in the ON position. I know it sounds crazy, but... But you can get a bad battery brand new too.

How big is the gas tank really?

And HISSIN that was one of the craziest things I had ever seen when I helped a friend change out his fuel pump. I couldn't believe they actually spliced the wires internally to the gas tank.

How big is the gas tank really?

94GTMOOSE is right. You can't pump your own gas in Jersey. Was the strangest thing I had ever seen, well since I was a kid in the 70's and gas stations still had full service. In Jersey, it was an answer to an unemployment problem they had years ago. They figured if you couldn't get a job...

Vibration at 80mph+ since gear install.

Sounds like they didn't shim your gears right or you used used gears that already had a wear pattern for the car they came out of.

    Crazy Medical Question

It won't hurt you but drakesdad is right. The reason they prescribe a certain amount of antibiotic is so that you take enough to kill the bug. So the question from your doctor should be why do you still have left over antibiotics, lol.

    Computer Questions.

Mine did the same thing, terribly, stock. When it was cold it would make almost a backfire sound from the intake like back in the day when a car would pop at the carburetor. As soon as the car was up to operating temp though it would run fine. Now it just idles erratically cold, long enough...

    New dyno numbers

    What can I say, I am thick-headed.

    New dyno numbers

Alright, bigger cam is required, but will have to wait on that probably. I guess considering in March I had a stone stock car, and now I have all the stuff listed, I am doing alright. But, he did put new rockers on too.

    My Two Verts

Know what you mean, Pokageek. Don't think I want to screw up an already nice running car, LOL.
