    Partshopper needs your input....

My post was more geared towards performance items for the earlier carbed Mustangs. The market for OE replacement body panels, wiring harnesses, interiors, etc is saturated and we aren't looking to expand into that market at this time. I figured though, that you guys may be a good source for...

    Got beat by a 03 Mach1....WTF???

It shouldn't even be a race with your car in good tune. Plugs with the proper gapping would be first on my list though...and a dyno tune is money well spent:nice:

Just got a 429......how to extract 500 HP?

67GTA - must've been a mistake earlier...I was basing my opinion on numbers you posted earlier in this thread... ...the .588 lift spec sounds better and since it is a solid will make a lil more power vs the hydraulic, I was pointing out that what you posted earlier seemed a little small...

Just got a 429......how to extract 500 HP?

67GTA...figuring in a 20% loss through the drivetrain, your horsepower number equates to roughly 465 FWHP...not bad for a mild 429. However IMO you are not only under-carbed but undercammed as well, and I would guess with a good in-depth tune and some more part optomizing you have plenty of HP...

is a 85 5.0 worht puttin any money into?

The '85 is a smoking investment... Last year of the carbureted 5.0 Mustang, mean four-eyed front end, old-school look, and even turns 20 this year - a classic! What's not to like? (except maybe the 7.5 rear - easy swap) :nice:

    275/40/17s on the rear?

I run 275/40 17s on 17x9 Cobra R wheels with quad shocks still attached and aftermarket catback w/3.5" tips and no interference at all....my catback is adjustable and I simply took my time to get it all to work just right...as you can see, I got a lil room left to stuff more tire in the...

    '85 roller questions

Also, in case you weren't aware, be sure that if/when you go to an electric fuel pump that you buy one designed to work w/a carburetor. Typically, pumps that deliver more than 7 psi at the carb will exceed the needle and seat capacity on most Holleys. A regulator can also be used in...

Need pics of a 65 stang with 15x10 out back.

Do what you want to do, afterall it is your car. FYI though, plenty of companies now make 9" wide rims...it may be a nice way to 'bridge the gap' so to speak :nice:

    5.0 vs 2005

:nice: , not only that but you will be faster and lighter. The new S197 platform is a good one and quite rigid but the Fox can easily be upgraded to brake and handle extremely well if that is also your pursuit. The aftermarket is huge and nice 5.0s are getting rarer by the year. Plus like...

What would you like to see in a S197 BOSS Mustang?

Personally I would like to see a strong, muscular representation of yesteryear's Boss Mustang. Obviously a step above the Mach, the Boss was a serious street machine even in stock form, especially the '71 Boss 351. Ford has obviously decided to make the Cobra the King of the Hill of the...

What do I have, Forged or cast?

Weren't the '85 and '86 roller Mustang 5.0 engines also forged? I'm getting rusty :D

    4;10 review

4.10s here too...love 'em (even behind a stick). I rarely see the highway but because I swapped to a Z-spec WC T-5 which has the .63 5th gear I don't sweat it. And with the 2.95 first gear I can actually make use the 4.10s when in first -however short a time that might be. Drag struts...

The 351 Cleveland is not a bigblock despite its size.

    302 Suddenly Dies!

I would take a look at electrical as well. Wouldn't hurt to doublecheck settings on the carb but check all wires for a good connection. Check the coil- as soon as the car dies, turn key off and feel the coil case (with caution)....in most cases a bad coil will be too hot to hold. It could...
