    Newbie needs help !

How the hell did you manage 29 mpg? Under what kind of conditions and speed? I'm not doubting I just want to know. The best I ever got in stock form was 25 mpg on a cross country trip which brings me to my next point. I drove my car from Sacramento, CA to Columbus, GA and a few months...

    Anyone with 255/50/17 tires?

Nitto now makes a 255/50 17 for their 555s too, but I am running the 450s as well. The dry traction isn't bad, but it isn't great either. Wet traction for the 450s is great IMO. Finally the fact that they are 255 over the stock 235 made a noticeable difference in lateral grip performance...

Giugiaro Mustang At The Detroit Auto Show

The only thing I really like about it is the front grill.

    Rear axle moan fix.

I had that same problem develop on my 05, and the solution was a bottle of friction modifier as well. Some people told me the noise would come back, but that was over 5000 miles ago. Plus I recently switched out to 4.10s and so now I have all new fluids in the diff..... still no noise as...

    07 Mustang V6 vs 07 Civic Si

I couldn't get those websites to come up maybe they are down for maintenance at this time. No matter, building on what you said the Mustang V6 is the base model of the Mustang line up. Conversely, the Civic Si is the premier top-of-the-line Civic. So naturally the Si will have just...

    0-60 w/drag pack

I would agree with the ~4.8 secs with those mods. IMHO you shouldn't worry about the 0-60mph times. That kind of race would be difficult to judge anyway. What is important is the 1/4mile time, they give you a much better idea of the cars ability to accelerate.

    07 Mustang V6 vs 07 Civic Si

I think your statement makes a good point, and I also think it illustrates the importance of torque and how it develops the power band. Bench racing has shown us the Mustang V6 is nearly identical to the Civic Si in terms of stock acceleration. While the V6 stang does, in fact, make 13 more...

    07 Mustang V6 vs 07 Civic Si

The V6 only has forged rods, so the pistons are still vulnerable to catastrophe.

    07 Mustang V6 vs 07 Civic Si

Good call, I wasn't paying close enough attention to what you were getting at. I didn't find anything about the 4 door at edmunds, except that the 4 door weighs only 65lbs more than the coupe. The extra weight would of course slow it down. Eventhough 65lbs isn't much, 65lbs added to a...

    Mustang GT vs Nissan 350z

Good info :nice: I guess it does make sense. If I'm not mistaken, the VQ engine is 3.5L, and 300hp (current 350Z) is quite a lot of power to pull out of that size engine while remaining N/A. So I can see why squeezing out anymore would be difficult.

    Mustang GT vs Nissan 350z

What were your mods to your old 350Z that only gained 5rwhp? Don't they have any aftermarket tunes or chips that would bump it up at least 10 rwhp or so? I'm only asking, because I don't know and I'm curious.

    07 Mustang V6 vs 07 Civic Si

Yeah "old camaro" is a pretty vague term. His "old camaro" could have been a1985 Camaro Berlinetta with a 2.8L V6 that ran 17s in the 1/4 mile. According to edmunds, and as posted earlier, the new Si pulled a 15.1 in the quarter. A chip could get it down a few tenths I suppose and make it...

    Mustang GT vs Nissan 350z

+100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Not only that but other Mustang forums have debated this topic ad nauseum Bottom line assuming equal drivers: 350Z is better than the 05+ GT at the road course 05+ GT is better than the 350Z at the drag strip to include the 300hp/260 ft-lb version of...

    07 Mustang V6 vs 07 Civic Si

You know given the choice between ONLY a V6 Mustang and a Civic Si I think I would go with the Si. However, since you asked, the biggest reason I would get the Mustang V6 over the Si is purely based on looks. The mustang is just a much better looking car. Do you plan on modding your car...

need help frpp 4.10 gear issue ?

Damn that blows....I looked at my stuff and I have the motive 4.10s from FRPP. Thankfully, I have no issues with whine, but I was trying to get pure FRPP gears to lower my risk of gear whine. I wish I knew about the M designator before.

    04 vs. 05+

I say go with the 05+ because that is what you want. I'm sure you can find a reasonably priced used 2005 Mustang GT in the low $20Ks. Just because it is an 05+ don't feel obligated to get a brand new one if you are on a tight budget. Just do some shopping around and be patient. I bet you...

    speed governor

Short answer no.... many cars, even some super cars can't break the 200 mph mark. Only because they lack the power to over come wind resistance. The theoretical top speed is just a reflection of how fast wheels can physically spin at a given tire diameter, engine rpm, transmission ratio, and...

    Mind made up...Supra

+1 I completely agree on the 3000GT, I don't know if they have a super bottom end like the supra, but they are pretty quick out of the box, and you can find them very cheap. I don't think they look too shabby either. I just read in motor trend or one of those mags that the new performance...

    FRPP CMRC Deletes for SC?

I believe it is also a safety consideration. I remember reading about a vendor or professional tuner who's charge motion plates warped while using a centri S/C.
