    Do a search for reprogramming the keys. My guess is that the keys, as you said, were not being recognized by the computer and the anti-theft system will need to be reset.

    You could do a search on the humming sound as this has been brought up before a few times. I don't remember what came about it as my '00 was totaled and my '02 doesn't do that.

    In my '00 GT I found it to be the air humming as it went through the intake, especially around the throttle body and plenum. Once the car warmed up it quit.

    I've had mine on for two years and have only recently had to retighten them. Listen to streetstang03, I have noticed that the hangers are quite long and do bang on the tips.

    I have noticed the same in all the cars I've driven (mine or others) and feel that it is normal. I have heard that it is good to use the A/C every few weeks during the winter to keep the refridgerant circulating. And yes I know that when you put the Defrost, it cycles the A/C.

    I'm not saying that the engine is going to blow up, but letting it run when it is not necessary does increase the engine wear. Common sense.

    I cover the alternator and make sure I don't get the MAF, battery and fuse block behind the battery wet. I dampen the engine, spray diluted Simple Green on it, wait 5-10 minutes and then hose it off with a low pressure setting so water isn't forced anywhere it shouldn't go. Then I break out...

    Yes you are wasting gas compared to shutting it off. If you are going to wait at least 30-40 seconds while idling, it is best to shut it off and restart it. Excessive idling does increase engine wear, carbon build-up, etc.

    I would also check to see if you have a vacuum line disconnected. On the off chance, is there anything in the throttle body that's keeping it open?
