    charging

80 amp alt...no that's not the problem. You need to get a schematic and figure out which wire is the 12V Switched lead and ensure it has power when the key is on. If you know the alt is good then this could be the reasons its not working. Nothing would be telling the alt to charge.... If you...

    charging

I've delt with a few Alt problems similar to this but on different vehicles. If you know the bat, cables, alt and fuses are good then you should begin looking at the wiring or plugs. Get a manual with your schematics and trace the wires. I'm not to familiar with your wiring I have an 85 with an...

    Some small turbo swap Q's

You don't have to disable the EGR. I live in a tight Emmisions area. I did some research and found you can repin the EGR as well and still make it functional. Here is a write up I started based on my 2.3T swap. Turbo Swap Wiring Instructions 88-90 Mustang: Note: You will see pin wire 46...

PCV looking device in rear of valve cover on 88 TC

I was thinking about that after my last post. I got the motor VIA junk yard so who knows what the previous owner or the junk yard did. Stopped by a few parts stores, found out the part is listed as a Crankcase Breather which would make sense after reading what Pro-Halk originally posted. All had...

PCV looking device in rear of valve cover on 88 TC

Well mine is a little doifferent than what you described. Mine has a black steal tube about 3/8 in diameter that runs from the Turbo inlet tube before the turbo to the the back of my valve cover but it conects to a white PCV looking valve and then that plugs into the top of my valve cover close...

Turbo Swap Completed! One problem remains...

I only had 1 one-way-valve at the time which I used to isolate all the other vacuum accessories. I picked up another one last night and a new PCV valve in case the old one is bad. I will install those today and see what happens. I may have damaged the PCV valve when my wastegate was not working...

Turbo Swap Completed! One problem remains...

Just completed my Turbo Swap in my 85 Mustang Notchback and I am impressed. :D It is like night and day. My project started as a carbed 2.3 auto and is now a EFI 2.3 Turbo 5-speed. I did a full EFI swap and turbo swap at once plus an auto to stick conversion as well. The install and wiring...

    FPR Question

Sorry but you will have to bear with my ignorance on most EFI related topics. I'm a carb guy and this "EFI turbo swap" is my first stab at an EFI system. What is the diffrenece between no vacume reference and one that has vacuum reference? I did a quick search but nothng came up defining...

    FPR Question

Is there a specific FPR for the 2.3l or will a 5.0 fuel pressure regulator work? I have seen several post on adding a aftermarket FPR but none state which one to use. Search function didn't turn up a exact answer. Thanks

    94-98 dash in a 93?

Here are two pictures. Can't remember where I got them, I stumbled onto them doing a search for something. I do remeber reading that the guy had to cut off the windshield defroster portion of the dash closest to the windshield to make it fit. There were no side to side issues other than it does...

Conversion almost complete, but stuck on....

Thanks Anthony M! :nice: I understand where they go now, but what function does the vacuum ports on the IC serve? Also I will be running the stock intercooler to get it up and running but then I will be swapping to a front mount intercooler. The Volvo front mount I have does not have...

Conversion almost complete, but stuck on....

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of a Turbo Conversion on my 85 Mustang and I'm stuck :bang: on some vacuum hoses and none of the conversions sites really go into detail on the vacuum routing after the conversion. I have a diagram posted here http://www.flemworld.com/MTVD_TMP.jpg of my current...

    One more wiring question

This is probrably a stupid question and I already think I know the answer but I'll ask anyway. I have read over Stingers, CROVAX, 140CLX and GT350's web sites (great sites by the way, very informative :nice: ) but one wire is still confusing me especially after reading CROVAX's site. All the...

HELP HELP wires r driving me nuts

Sorry to butt into this thread but I was looking at both web sites and they state to unhook the MAP on an 89 car. Why is this? Is there a performance gain? Just wondering why this should be disconnected. The sites don't explain why. Thanks Mike
