Preventing exhaust leaks when reattatching exhaust

Don't be a doof like I was the first time I went to connect my X-pipe to my headers. I slid the collars up and cranked them down and proceeded to crush the header cone. I didn't have the cup properly oriented and ended up with a horrid exhaust leak. To fix the problem I had to replace my...

    surging idle? IAC VALVE?

You can use T-body or carb cleaner. If you use carb cleaner, make sure you don't get it on or in the T-body as it will remove the factory applied anti-fouling coating.

Are ceramic pads and slotted rotors worth the extra coin

I'll let you know in a couple of days. I am in the process of converting to Cobra calipers up front and will be installing new EBC dimpled & slotted rotors all around with their Red pads.

    surging idle? IAC VALVE?

I couldn't get my engine to idle and after a lot of research (ages ago), we found that people were drilling a small hole in the throttle plate (maybe 3/16"?) to get a bit of extra idle air. It worked wonders for my engine idle.

problem with idle after trickflow install????

Adjust the IAC on the T-body. I have an Edelbrock 70mm T-body and I had to drill small hole in the throttle plate to get mine to idle. I couldn't get enough air with just the IAC screw.

Went WOT for First Time Since New Engine

I don't think you will be able to tap the Billet Specialties piece. The outlet rotates in the housing base and is sealed with an O-ring. the base is also sealed with an O-ring (although it is not circular when you're done inserting it to the sudo-figure 8 groove provided) to the intake manifold...

    Heater not working.

That isn't likely the problem. The small hose is a bypass hose to promote coolant circulation through the block until the T-stat opens.

Went WOT for First Time Since New Engine

FWIW- Don't waste your money on the chrome jobs. They warp and leak like crazy. I fixed my mistake with a Billet Specialties aluminum unit which is awesome!!

OBD 2 didn't start until 1996 with the EEC-V computer and the 4.6. We have the EEC-IV with our 5.0's and they are only OBD 1.

    Heater not working.

Without actually looking under my to verify this, I do believe the temperature is actually controlled at the discharge point on the intake manifold. If you look at the front passenger side of the intake manifold you will see the heater line hard pipe connection. It threads into the manifold and...

    Cobra front brake hose

Thanks for the reply. I just returned from bead blasting the calipers and completely disassembled them to wash the sand & residue out of them When I discovered a possible issue. It seems the idiot that had these calipers before I got them used the wrong banjo pitch bolt and partly f****d up the...

94 Overheating....Blown head gasket or faulty thermostat???

I doubt it. There is a test that can be done to the coolant to check for dissolved exhaust gas to confirm.

94 Overheating....Blown head gasket or faulty thermostat???

I would guess you have a blown head gasket or a cracked head. The water in the reservoir wasn't boiling. It was the exhaust gas bubbling out.
