    Review On Broader Performance

He built me a rollerized C6 with a low gear kit and a custom converter for my stroked FE motor (580 ft/lbs torque on the dyno). Loved the tranny but it stalled a little bit high for my taste (about 3000 rpm). I talked to him about it and he said he underestimated the power of my engine. He...

    18'' wheels on '67

Even you you get them to fit you are going to have to run a very low profile tire. Keep in mind that a lot of the "suspension" on these cars was the tires (which is why they were so high profile). You are going to get a very rough ride with that kind of tire.

    Exhaust manifold paint

I let the engine do the baking. It dries plenty well without baking it.

Which is the best engine paint?

Any of the rattle can paints. I don't even use primer. How well it holds up is dependent mostly on how clean the block is. Lots of lacquer thinner and a toothbrush. It needs to be "white glove" clean.

    68 Styled steel wheel paint?

You want Ford argent paint. I bought a couple cans off ebay. Two is enough.

67 coupe New project? What to look for?

In the long run it is better to buy one with a solid body as opposed to a rusty one. You might think you are saving money buying a serious project but you are wrong. And the time it takes to get one into shape discourages a lot of people and they give up. That's why there are so many projects...

    Exhaust manifold paint

The Eastwood exhaust manifold paint works great. I buy the cans and put it on with a foam brush. Very durable. I use it on brake drums and calipers also.

    What Clutch to Buy???

Chatter is almost never a clutch problem if the disc and pressure plate are new. Unless one of them is defective. I have the CF DF behind my 347 and like it a lot. Light clutch pedal, hooks up great.

    How to install Edelbrock #1404??

On some intakes the Eddy carb will not seal against the carb pad. Get the 3/8" insulating spacer (basically a thick carb gasket) that Edelbrock makes (part #9266) from Summit. It will solve any sealing problems AND help keep the carb from getting too hot.

    Low Vacuum, where to look?

How big of a cam do you have? 5 inches of vacuum is not much - takes a pretty radical cam to go that low. Bump the initial timing to about 12. The vacuum should improve and it should allow you to close the butterflies enough to get the carb on the idle circuits (in other words the idle...

    Reinstalling intake manifold

Don't use the cork end seals or silicone. Instead buy a product called "The Right Stuff". Put down a bead, drop intake into place. This stuff is about as foolproof as anything.

    drilling through carpet

Instead of punching I melt the holes in the carpet. This seals the edges to prevent runners and makes it EASY to find the hole. Get a drill bit the size of the hole you want. Put a piece of rubber hose on the sharp end. Use a propane torch to heat the butt end just barely red hot. Place...

    67 Restoration Questions

In the first place just forget about "value". Don't build the car for some hypothetical future buyer. You are going to be upside down in it financially no matter if you go dead stock or restomod. That being said, you have a coupe and it will never be worth a whole lot of money no matter...

    Edelbrock 650 Thunder AVS Carburetor

The manual with the carb has nice simple directions for leaning out the carb. You want to make it REALLY easy then instead of trying different jet/rod combos just look at the rods you have and buy a couple more sets of them that are different sizes. Then all you have to do is change rods.

How to change shift rpm points with a C6 ?

You can adjust the modulator. Also, make sure your kickdown linkage is adjusted properly. It will hold the tranny in gear longer.

    Scatter Shield for My '65

I also have a Mcleod behind my 347. I had to grind it in the same spot. Get a set of stubby ratcheting wrenches - there are a lot of bolts and some of them are hard to get to. I got the optional pivot so I could run the original clutch linkage. Cheaper than a new set of feet.

Adding Subframe Connectors - Why not lift them to reverse unibody sag?

When the inner and outer rockers were replaced on my 68 vert the guy doing it reinforced them internally with a lot more welds than just the spot welds. As a result it has the stiffest body of any old vert I have seen. I was jacking it up under the front frame rail and once I got it to a...

    Carbs... Not just for nutrition

I've got a 347 with worked Dart Pro 1 heads, Cobra intake. I've run both a VS 750 Holley and a VS Edelbrock 750. I liked the Holley just fine but I kept having idle problems with it and I just got tired of fiddling with it. I got the Edelbrock and maybe lost a few HP (like I care on the...

My Real-World Test with Synthetic Oil

When I have changed out regular oil the viscosity is much thinner than when I put it in. Mobil 1 seems to be more stable in terms of viscosity. Big deal in a hot climate.
