    I'm a Founding Member? What's this?

Yeh everyone lost posts in some catastrophy that happened in 04 or 05. Luckily I don't post all that much so I didn't lose that much, but I think I've only just overtaken the posts that I used to have.

Finished prototype Mustang disc brake spindles

Reading through NPD's catalogue again, and 68 - 73 use the same single piston caliper. Apart from overall geometry changes, there is only the tie-rod taper and the spindle size, which are both known to have increased in 70, but remained the same from then right? There is also the ball-joints...

Finished prototype Mustang disc brake spindles

So do you mean that the calipers themselves probably mount to the brackets differently and the bracket to spindle mount is the same?

Finished prototype Mustang disc brake spindles

Degins I don't know if this will help, but here http://lakefrontflorida.com/mustang/disk_brakes.html are some pics of a 71 disc knuckle. This LOOKS just like (that is the caliper bracket look just like) the 70-73 that NPD advertise. Whether NPD pic is correct or not is another question. I...

TCP Rack & Pinion and Bumpsteer?

No I think the 70 has the same tie-rod hole as the 68-69. One thing to remember is everything kept getting bigger. I think... Yes this spindle/knuckle stuff is a little confusing.

Finished prototype Mustang disc brake spindles

I believe there is an Equivalent, from the XY Falcon of the same era (60s - 70s) I'm pretty sure it's either the exact same thing as late 60s Mustang suspension or it is interchangeable at least. I'm not too big of an expert on our classic cars though unfortunately, I like Mustangs. Also, there...

    TKO 500 in a classic

How much difference is there in the trans tunnels? I also wouldn't specifically say that the above paragraph means that it WILL fit in 67 and up, it just doesn't say it WON'T fit.

Finished prototype Mustang disc brake spindles

As it is becoming increasingly clear to me, something I learned and I should have believed in more is that I don't need to know HOW something works, just the interfaces, and how I can use it. With that said, What outer tie-rods will fit your knuckle? What brake system are they intended...

    TKO 500 in a classic

I'm sure it's better but I remember something about it still being not quite enough room. I hope to put a TKO in a 69 one day (hopefully petrol still exists by then) and use TCP mounts. Since I'm a cad tech for a laser cutter I'll make some new chassis mounts that lower the engine. (Probably...

TCP Rack & Pinion and Bumpsteer?

Thanks Jester, that sums it up well for me!

    AAAAAHHHHHHH! F%#&ING WIRING!!!

Hey I'm a reasonably smart guy with a bachelor's in SE as well so I know the situation you're in. It makes you feel stupid to be overwhelmed by something as simple as electricity SEEMS to be. The biggest problem is that it is invisible so you can't see a problem if you run across one. Continuity...

TCP Rack & Pinion and Bumpsteer?

Guys I was going to start a different thread on this, but it seems to be the same topic, and may help out here anyways. I want to clarify the different splits in spindles. There is 65 and 66 67 and 68 69 and 70 - 73 or is it 70 and 71 - 73? I ask because NPD sells spindles and...

    TKO 500 in a classic

NPD, autoworks.cc, JME and 5speedtransmissions also sell the crossmembers and slave cylinders and brackets. You can use a hydraulic master cylinder if you want to. There are problems with fitment of the TKO, the output end hangs lower and so you end up with a bad angle on you driveshaft. The...

short little vid of 10secgoal's blow off valve

True true, it would only be on a MAF EFI system. I like the re-plumbed solution, it seems more correct to me, and hides that unnecessary blow-off noise.

short little vid of 10secgoal's blow off valve

I hear that! It also causes you to run really rich when you dump metered air back into the atmosphere right? It's Only for a fraction of a second, but still every time you shift.

    New wheels

Looks nice, not my cup of tea, but still nice!

short little vid of 10secgoal's blow off valve

That's pretty nice, but it doesn't seem loud like the hardcore ricer "my car is teh best" blow-offs. Or is that because the exhaust is still monstrously loud? If so - :nice:

    AAAAAHHHHHHH! F%#&ING WIRING!!!

I was reading up on I squared (www.isqe.com I think) and they have a system of wiring that plugs switches into a controller, and the controller turns on and off a power block, which is basically just a bunch of relays. It apparently simplifies wiring, but I don't really see it, it just chucks...

long tube headers on a car this low?

If you got a custom setup (headers and all) you would most likely gain clearance, but aftermarket long tubes look to hang about the same.

OT: Is Santa a man or Woman?

Haha, ahem. That's not PC! lol Also he's driven a sled for how long? There aren't many women that get attached to a vehicle so well, and less that would build one up so that it could race around the world in 24 hours, stopping at millions of houses on the way.
