    Window tint scratches!

    Why not use a box cutter and carefully remove enough of the seal so it does not touch the window or scratch the tint. I can't imagine enough trash getting past a small opening to hurt anything on the inside of the window.

    POWERHOUSE driveshaft

    As best I can tell from pics of the aluminum and carbon fiber shafts it appears the end yokes/flanges and adaptors are aluminum with the aluminum shafts but with the carbon fiber they appear to be steel. This might be the the reason the CF is heavier.

    Thanks... My LS1 is one that did an 11.9? with the factory cam way back. I bought it new in 9/98 and probably went that 11 in fall of 99. I have a PI 3600 converter.

    Didn't say it was not lightened up. My race weight was 2920# when I ran a 10.778 @ 122.64 mph, 1.444 60'. It is n/a! "12.79", an almost stock LS1 can run that with tires, the right gear and DA. My almost stock (just a Pulley) 06 stang ran a 13.42 in not great air. Almost LS1 territory.

    Experience with one-piece driveshafts?

    If these shafts were made from 7075 aluminum they could be the same size as the steel. They would be even lighter than the curent 4" diameter aluminum shafts. The price companies are charging they should be made from 7075. It is a more expensive aluminum but as strong as most steels.

    Installed JLT CAI

    I went from a 13.42 @ 101.80 mph to a 13.151 @ 102.98 mph with the JLT and tuning. It was 10 degrees cooler however but still a nice gain. Not sure I would say a couple tenths changes it into a beast though. I have since taken the JLT off. Just can't get used to the looks.

    06 gt in the 11s

    It's going to take weight reduction, cam and ported heads along with a lot of bolt ons. What is "mostly motor". If that means a little nitrous then it will be a whole lot easier.

    What stall did they test? I bet it wasn't a 4000 or they would have gained another .2-.3 gain.

    A loose converter acts somewhat like a gear. Have you seen dyno numbers with stalls. My 88 Mustang that ran 10s (see signature) dynoed only 360hp but with 530 pounds of torque. Now that's getting the torque to the ground. Can't do that with a gear! Nearly all real racers run automatics...

    Put a PI 3600 stall in that pony and you won't need lower gearing. No gear will give you the performance gain that a properly sized converter will. I have a PI 3600 in my 98 Camaro with 3.23 gearing. Run 10s with 1.4 60' times. A friend tried 3.73 gearing with the 3600 in his Formula...
