Intake Tweaking for better power and fuel mileage...

theres still alot of parts there you could use. I'd buy a turbo'd N/A motor in a minute, just to have the extra parts for when i do my swap later on.

    Should I keep my Stang?

Insurance for a v8 mustang when your 16 is crazy. And buying a car with transmission problems is never a good idea. If you take that $1300 you have saved up, and spend it on a turbo swap, you'll be going faster then the 5.0's and paying less insurance.

Best Mods for a non FI or turbo'd stang

Get a header, and cut out the cats. You said you've already got a new muffler, so i wouldn't bother replacing the entire exhust system, unless you want duels, but thats more for show then anything. After that, I wouldn't put any more money into it because your not going to be getting very...

Intake Tweaking for better power and fuel mileage...

pvc is the cheapest and easiest route to go. Measure the diameter of the T/B opening, and then try to get pvc with same inside dimensions. K&N is the route to go for an air filter. There are always people who will tell you how bad or what a rip off they are, but IMO its money very well...

    speedo question

all the ones i've seen on ebay are the junk speed glow gauges, or some crappy ricer knock off setup. I want the cobra gauges, an all black background with white gauge faces. All the ones i've seen on ebay are completely white. But i guess i'll just keep looking.

    Good price for pipes?

I've never been to the track with the car, but its a fun car to drive. It really likes to rev, big bore-short stroke, and with the cam and 4brl intake, the throtle response is nice. Sadly tho, I saw some dyno sheets once, and the car they belonged to had almost the same setup and it only made...

Just the speedo numbers? or all of them in general?

    speedo question

if your talking about say a white face guage overlay, then i belive that there is a gear on the end of the cable that runs from the speedo to the tranny that you need to swap out. To add a second question to this thread, Im thinking of buying a set of white face cobra guage overlays, how ever...

    Good price for pipes?

a 2.8 with a 4brl and a huge cam dosen't sound anything like a ricer. Every person who asks me about the car without looking under the hood thinks its a v8. ask around on the mustang II board, find somebody else with a 2.8 and the same setup and they will tell u the same thing.

    Good price for pipes?

the thrush glass pak is just a straight threw cherry bomb design. I have them on my mustang II, they sound great, but i dont know how quiet, or good sounding they are gonna be on a 4cyl. But i guess for $13 a muffler, you can't beat that.

    Engine cleaning question...

some simple green, a stiff brush and a garden hose go a long way too.

oh I love it when ppl think a 5.0 in a mustang is the only way to go.

kinda odd that ford would build a pos motor like the 302 for 30 years huh? you figure they would have realized how unstable and crappy it was and just junked it

    Exhaust question

since when are flowmasters too restrictive? especially in a duel setup?

    Help me win an argument.

The trac lok unit has a series of clutch disks in it, that is what he was talking about, not the clutch that works with your tranny like Tealtiger was thinking. And hes right, the ford 4cyl fox mustang wasn't offered with a trac-lok unless it was a turbo setup.

    Help me win an argument.

somebody at ford must have messed up when they put my car together then, cuz i've got an open Diff. Maybe i'll write them a letter and see if i can get them to give me a free trac-lok setup since they forgot to install it the first time :bang:

    It's been awhile.

well, I cant speak from experiance for the 2.3 because I haven't had one apart yet, so I dont know how far down the bore skirts go, so im not sure how much room there is to work with. However I have done this before. If you cant snake your hand around in there to push things out threw the top...

    It's been awhile.

why do you laugh? Im just outside hamburg, about 15 minutes south or buffalo. Do you see many turbo coupes for sale up by you? none in the junk yards down here, and i've seen maybe 2 for sale in the paper since i started looking last year. I wouldn't use a wire wheel on a hand...

    It's been awhile.

i wouldn't reccomend cleaning them in the block. Just pull the oil pan off and pull them out. You could clean the tops of them with the wire wheel on the bench grinder, or soak them in some simple green or gas or something to get the gunk off of them. Might as well Hone the cylinders while ur in...

    why cant i turbo?

Alot of it has to do with the computers their cars are running. For the most part, they are bolting a turbo on to a car that is generally about 10 years younger then our cars. The engine management systems in the ricers can adapt to the turbo and handle it, while the mustang turbo swap requires...

    Turbo lawn mower

i've seen turbo snowmobiles before, there was a company here in NY that was making bolt on kits for them. I bet if you search for them you would find something.
