If you have a mass air conversion on this car please clean the heated wire element with electrical parts cleaner - free fix. If not - clean plugs, check plug wires, clean/check dizzy cap, check fuel pressure (should be 30+ lbs at idle and increase to 38 or so when vacuum line popped off...

    E303

you can never have too much torque.... =) I love low end pull 0-60 is where I live all day but I rarely drive it hard - part throttle usually - that is why I like the 3.73's

pop or clunk sound 50% of the time when going from forward to reverse or vice-versa

1993 GT convertible - Slow speed in driveway - 5spd - all rebuilt 5k miles ago w/ new Centerforce dual-friction clutch, rebuilt rear end with extra posi clutches, etc... I checked U-joints by wiggling - no play, motor mounts - tight and no cracks, trans mount tight and no cracks and attaching...

    E303

it worked fine with my stock set up - 1.7 Crane rollers, e303, stock pistons, stock heads with mild porting, stock length hardened pushrods, etc... I did not degree mine but I would recommend that as well since the motor is out - I wish I had a bit more low end torque but it does fine at...

my car drips after a/c has been working too - i can hear it sizzling when I cut it off for several minutes - the a/c has a drain tube on the passenger side right over the exhaust and will sometimes POUR water out if the car is turned or off level - also the hard a/c line can get a lot of...

Car dies when coming to a stop......

carb cleaner should work well - use a q-tip and get in there good and flush it out -- make sure the car will idle good with it warmed up and the wire disconnected after you re-install it - adjust the throttle stop until you get it about 800-900 rpm with warm idle and the IAC not plugged in and...

    miss/sputtering

I had the same problem - It took 2 minutes to fix and .50 worth of electrical parts cleaner - I took out the MAF heated wire element and sprayed it, let it dry and put it back it back in. Hope this does it for somebody.... It drove me nuts for a couple days until I figured it out.

will 3 core rad fit ???

I put 3-rows in ALL my 5.0's - I seem to find cheap ones on EBAY for 110.00 or so with shipping every once in a while and they are all metal - good quality! no fit problems - all of them have fittings for automatic and come plugged for 5spd

A/C compressor will not turn on

as was said earlier - I will bet you are low on freon - it has been this on EVERY 5.0 I have owned so far. I simply evacuate and retro-fit to 134 and charge it up myself.

Car dies when coming to a stop......

I have fixed this problem several ways on several different 5.0's - 1. Cleaned the IAC very good 2. Bumped the throttle stop screw a little 3. Bumped timing up a little bit 4. Set the idle speed with the IAC unplugged -then adjusted the TPS voltage to .98 - then disconnected the battery for 15...

    Easy to tighten e-brake?

pop the rubber plugs out of the rear drum backing plate and take a flat blade screwdriver and turn the star wheel until you feel a slight drag when spinning the wheel with it safely lifted off the ground - 10 minute job. It would not be a bad idea to pull the wheels & drums and check the...

    Single Stage Paint issues

I like to use NON-ABRASIVE polishes - my favorite is sold in automotive paint supply stores - it looks like Pepto-Bismol - it is called synthetic cutting compound. You can also get a swirl remover to do the same thing. They take almost no paint off but remove the oxidation. I like to polish by...

50resto door armrest pads. Securing issues.

I pre-drilled mine with a very small drill bit very carefully and slowly into the sheet metal and used the stock screws in the stock locations - eventually they went in perfectly and look good but not up to show standards - takes patience

I got gears installed,is it supposed to make any kind of noise at first???

my NEW FMS 3.73's make a SLIGHT noise/light vibration at 75mph - 78 mph ONLY. Over that or under that it is very smooth - all new bearings, seals, posi clutches (extra added) etc... must be a tire thing....

I got gears installed,is it supposed to make any kind of noise at first???

no - not normal - just did my gears - new FMS 3.73's. and complete rear rebuild with all bearings, seals, posi clutches (extra one added) synthetic 75w90 oil etc... no noises - just like it always was. Yours sounds like something was left improperly tightened - hopefully someone else will have ideas

Strange Noise from the rear while stopping

could be when you are braking the weight transfer causes the two to contact each other and the axle will shift a slight bit when speeding up or slowing down - could be enough to cause it. I would take a metal strap and wrap it around the exhaust pipe and route it to a bolt somewhere under the...

Strange Noise from the rear while stopping

YES!!! worn out brakes will make a bad grinding sound - try just using the parking brake to see how it sounds - that is what I did - frt brakes can be seen through the wheels - look for fresh cuts in rotors on the outside and inside or just pull the wheels and look at the thickness of the pads -...
