just curious, how many BBF engine swaps?

My dad had a 67 with a 460 in it, and its pretty tight. It had manifolds on it, so I cant testify to how well any headers fit, but it was a pain to change the spark plugs.

Compression Test results...What do you think?

+1. While youre monkeying aroung with it, stick in a mild cam. A stock HO cam and a set of retrofit roller lifters from Crower would work nice and not break the bank, as stock cams can usually be had for free or darn close, and the lifters are about $220. Youll most likely need to upgrade the...

Modern Driveline Clutch Cable w/Hedman Elite Shorties

See if you can put some heat wrap of some kind around the bellhousing flange where the cable sits. Also, grind it back so there is more breathing room between it and the exhaust. I did a bunch of research when it comes to this combination, and it appears this setup is as good as it gets. I...

    99 explorer 5.0 swap to 69 mustang

Good luck with headers. The gt40P heads flow good, its just a shame more companies dont make headers to fit. Stock manifolds I have heard will fit, however. If the engine is going to remain stock, the manifolds will be fine.

Modern Driveline Clutch Cable w/Hedman Elite Shorties

I have the same setup in my Falcon. I put another layer of insulation inside the silver shielding that comes with the cable, then ground the ear down quite a bit on the bellhousing so there would be more room between it and the exhaust, then got some heat shielding and added that to the...

56K warning Lots of pictures! Swapping a '67 Radiator Support into a '66

How do you plan on doing that? Cowl or teardrop hood? One thing to think of is adding an air dam under the core support area. A friend with a Falcon did that and said his engine ran 5-10* cooler with it. Mine came from a 91 Buick Regal, plus the teardrop hood really lets a lot of heat out...

Need help please - new engine fitted - spewing coolant from rad on every journey

I had exactly the same problem on my car, but 2 sets of head gaskets did NOT fix the problem. I finally got mad and put new heads on it and never had a problem after that. I sold the old heads on eBay and the buyer emailed me a while later and said the heads worked great. Go figure.

    WANTED: boss 429 mustang

Not looking for a complete restored car, but a project, or incomplete car (I know, I know, not many of those left). Either that or I have 2 complete but disassembled boss 429s for sale. I dont personally own the engines, but if youre serious PM me and Ill put you in contact with the owner.

    65 Stang With Versailles Brakes

I personally have not done it, but there are many who have. I actually got the parts for someone else. If you already have Versailles brakes, the explorer cables have a totally different end on it. I can get a picture of the crusty explorer parts I have, if that will help any.

GT40P heads and 289 engine question

Im not sure why they wouldnt work, but the stock valve springs will not hold up to .520 lift. I dont have specs, but my guess is a stock cam with 1.7 Cobra rockers (.478 lift) is only reliable to 5,000, maybe 5500 if you want to push it.

master cylinder help - 69 with 4 wheel disc

The other thing Ive heard people using is a Corvette master, since theyve had 4 wheel disk with 4 piston calipers at all corners since 1965. The 60s master cylinder is what Ive heard people using, but I personally have not tried it, and Im not sure if they changed it in the 70s or not. The...

    65 Stang With Versailles Brakes

Unless you already know the calipers and everything is good, I would advise against the Versailles brakes. They work fine, but if you have to replace anything itll be expensive and/or hard to find, as youre finding already. Personally, I would sell what you have and replace it with 94-01...

I need Advise on Crate Engines

Kinda depends what you want to do with it. The windsor will make a great street/strip engine without weighing down the front end nearly as much as the big block so that handling will still be good, while the big block will give you the WOW factor. That level of power and weight from the big...

    GT40-P engine info

I think these have something to do with the low power rating: and actually, these are aftermarket replacements made of cast iron. The original stamped/cramped tubing is awful!

    heads

Short answer: no. Long answer: no, but they may be better than the set of worn out heads you may or may not have. Both being fresh theres no advantage other than hardened seats. Get some iron gt40 heads, mill em, and be done. They are cheap and are about the best flowing production windsor...
