    Consoles

I pulled my console out of storage last weekend and was surprised at how bad it looked next to my fresh interior (paint/carpet/dash/doors/etc.). It is really in very good shape for an original one, does need a new sliding door, but still looks just...OLD in there. I was hoping someone made...

    3-point seat belt for convertible

I added headrests and swapped the solid shaft steering for a collapsible one. I installed a rollbar too since it's a soft-top. I have 4-point seat belts but have not decided how/where to mount them. My plan was always to do the 67-Shelby thing with them going back to the top of the rollbar, but...

    No, Not My Radiator

I've got an unused (but was installed and later removed so it is not really "new") Northern "Race-Pro" that I'll sell for half what I paid. I had to pull it out since it has the DS lower and PS upper, that would not work with my electric water pump which forced me to raise my alternator so high...

Are 4v heads from the 03/04 Mach 1 compatible as a swap for our 3v heads ?

Ummmmm...8 more valves? JK I agree this swap is not even worth considering if you look at a cost/benefit analysis.

Steering Wheel Swap: Is it difficult?

It is a very easy swap, just be careful around those bags. Do not disconnect/reconnect them with any body parts (yours) in front of them.

    94-04 calipers on 67-68

Just a guess... The caliper mounting bracket places the caliper out from the centerline. On MS's kit it is spaced to work on a 13" Cobra rotor, the stock GT/V6 rotor was considerably smaller. Ergo it will not fit the lesser SN95 combos.

    AOD for a 65 Help! I need a 4th gear!

ALL automatic trans need a cooler, but since you'll be replacing the C4 you can reuse the cooler you have. When I swapped my C4 for an AOD I bought a radiator that did not have the trans cooler integrated inside of it and purchased an external cooler. That is not necessary though.

    Opinions on polyurethane bushings?

I ran full polly on the street for many years without any issues. But that was with 205/65R14 tires. Went to 235/45R17s and lost a lot of the give, either that or I am just getting too old for the jarring ride :D On my car now I have them on all springs and shocks (front and rear), plus the...

    No, Not My Radiator

Size has as much (or more) to do with driving style and ambient air temp than displacement. Frankly I don't see you getting any radiator worth the labor to install for $20.

    AOD for a 65 Help! I need a 4th gear!

Yes it is easy. You only need a few things. The bellhousing bolts right up. The AOD (duh) An aftermarket crossmember An aftermarket linkage kit An aftermarket TV cable kit (for carb...duh again) Shorter driveshaft (have yours trimmed or upgrade to a new lightweight one) The AOD is known for...

    351w Dyno Results

It is a torque-cam but the heads are the weak link compared to yours. I think his torque figures are great, a little short on HP but 351Ws are know to be that way. Just the opposite is true for the 289. They make HP all day but lack the grunt.

    hey new to the site

Most likely you have press-in rocker shafts. I would save the money on the rockers, not enough bang for your limited buck. Spend what you would have spent on the rockers for a bigger cam, but don't go too far with that without reworking the heads. Save money up for some decent heads, heads...

Questions on exhaust styles - need pics

Oh yeah...freaked me out too...that is the factory route ya know...see how it is hanging loose too? I pulled it entirely, replaced it with 8-AN hard line and fittings, then some braided up to the engine compartment. I still have to pull the sending unit and have the 3/8 outlet replaced with...

Questions on exhaust styles - need pics

It is :D The problem is not so much with the belly-plate, but the width of the pan. Here's a picture of the LTHs in my vert: I took it to the exhaust guy and he talked me into shorty headers, the problem was making the bends from the collectors around the (Windsor-Fox Engineering) AOD...

    U-Joint Fasteners

Just because you have a 9" doesn't mean there's one particular U-joint, in fact just for factory 9s I'd bet there's at least 8 of them that are "stock" for a certain application. You not only have the distance between the threaded portion but the OD of the bearing surface as well, also there are...

    U-Joint Fasteners

I've always seen u-bolts used, not even sure what the strap is to be honest. The u-bolts are highly specialized for the application, there are several sizes.

HP limit for the 8" Rear End

HP doesn't break drive train parts as readily as traction does. General rule of thumb though is the 8" is good out to 300rwhp if it is built with quality components. A stock 8" would be somewhat less than that.

    Retrotek Purchase

I'm interested in this product, first thought was why they don't offer something in between the 750 and the 1250. Also I think the price is a bit high, getting close to the price of the (better IMO) Weber-style 8 barrel injection kits. Port injection is much better than TB injection. Then again...
