I used to get a serious vibration also. It was the tailshaft bushing in the tranny.
Not hijacking but-
I replaced the tranny and now I get a vibration at 80mph or better. Im guessing its the rear gears? Or possible the rear bearings? My rear tires are balanced.
I would take the chance with Macco. What happens if you get a 3k paint job and you crash it on the way home. Will the insurance co. pay for it?? You wouldnt feel as bad with a $500 Macco job.
I paid 350 for one. Got it. It was the wrong tranny, input shaft about 1/2 in too big. The guy I got it from told me to "F" myself, literaly.

Would'nt changing the valve springs help the top end(valve float)?

The best way to find out if they are scumbags is do a fake call and tell them you bought an engine from them and the block cracked. See what there reaction is. People are real nice when your thinking about buying their product but once the sale is over they basically tell you to go F yourself...
