    Custom Rear Suspension sources?

I can take measurements from my EvM 3-link if you want it's attained the status of a custom piece now that the company is out of business, waiting for a buyer. I won't have the car back in my possession for a month at least, but I can take a measurement of the lower and upper arms if you like...

    M&R Engines on Ebaymotors

Sounds like a nightmare no American consumer buying American should suffer through. vette69, I have to say that misery loves company. I've been waiting on a T&L engine for over a year, and sitting through numerous delay excuses, but have some faith that their final product will be good...

    are all 302's created equal?

I know that earlier 302 blocks, 1967-1975 (?) had a thicker wall casting, but is it true that they also had a higher nickel content? I've read this in a few places. I know the "Hecho en Mexico" block supposedly has an even higher nickel content, but do the early blocks have more nickel than...

    are all 302's created equal?

I'm getting my original 302 rebuilt right now as a 331 by a local performance shop. I forgot to look at the block casting when I removed it - I'm meeting up with the builders in a week or so and I'll try to check out the block casting to see if I have anything special. Great thread!

How the flark did I miss THIS???

Rear passenger rust - was it an East Coast/cold weather car? I ask because mine was bought in Philly at the age of 15, before I could even drive. It had some rust under the driver's feet and firewall, but the right side rockers and under the rear passenger seat there was rust, and it was...

    70's tank in a 68?

Nothing wrong with a bigger tank - helps launch, weight distribution the bigger tank should help weight distribution, too . . . nothing wrong with adding a little useful sprung weight to the back there. It should balance the car better and give you more cruising range and less time at the pump...

How the flark did I miss THIS???

In a word, yes. :D I want to enjoy my car as much as possible while I'm restoring and upgrading it. Had the rusty floorpans done and the trunk will be next, then the body. The advantage of doing it this way, even though in the end it will cost more, I'm sure, is that I get to enjoy the car...

In general, how do stock '65s handle twisties

Glad to hear you made it safe . . . upgrade time? Voodoo -- great to hear you made it back safe. Buellton's a great little spot and hope you made it to Mother Hubbard's or Andersen's for breakfast. That's a gorgeous car - the vintage burgundy and the indian fire red are great colors, love...

If something were to happen, it would be a great loss, both to this forum and the Mustang community in general . . . (and I would feel bad about the driver too. :D  )

Roadside attractions . . . if you drink, (and don't overdo it) Laetitia winery somewhere near SLO and Costa de Oro are nice stops right off 101. It helps while traveling if you have some kind of smartphone - I have the iPhone and the Yelp app to look up wineries, restaurants, etc, so each trip...

I hear ya Voodoo, the Bixby Canyon photo op is hard to pass up. See if you can figure that into your drive. If you take 101, though, which I officially recommend, Bixby stop or no, be careful of the long descent between SLO (I think?) and Santa Barbara, and that windy tunnel area before...

    69 taillight panel on 70?

I'm the complete opposite . . . Bad92, As the owner of a '70, there's one thing, and one thing only, that I'd like from the '69: the headlights, specifically the dual front lights. I think that makes, say, the '69 Mach 1 a beautiful thing. Except for those narrow tail lights. I love...

getting a 245/45/17 to fit on the front

Watching the HorsePower TV episode where they're building a track car out of a '67 Dynacorn shell, and they have an interesting way to measure wheel fit. DVR it if you can, but a little summary: 1. Find out your wheel backspace. 2. Take your tire diameter and cut it in half, getting the...

don't be too sorry if you can't fit, 245s can = bumpsteer Coming from someone who's done this, don't be surprised if you have bumpsteer issues with a low profile 245 tire up front. If you have any bumpsteer at all or "tramlining" you'll have lots more with the 245s . . . oodles, even. :D...

Yeah, you've got to call it a day sometime . . . and anything more than what you've already done is probably overkill. Part of me wishes there were more room to send a tube down from either midway through the "arm" of an export brace or at a point very close to the shock tower down to a point...
