Not a clue what's wrong with my 02 GT(this is a long post..)

Just a couple weeks ago I was dealing with the same issue you are now. Any kind of load, and the engine would bog and miss. 4th and 5th were the worst. Low RPM was very evident, which was never a problem before especially since I put the 4.10's in. It turned out to be a coil. But it...

    itsstock02

I see this turned into quite a weight debate. The S197's are no joke. I do love my 2000, and I favor the new edge far more, but stock for stock its not happening. Sure, an EXCELLENT driver in a 99-04 GT coupe with a 5spd could take a S197 with a mediocre or poor driver, but most drivers dont...

    Questions on Speedhut Gauge Install

Your power/ground locations are fine. Depending on how solid the connection is it may affect the lighting performance. Did you get the upgraded inverter? I got the upgrade, and it doesnt whine or atleast I dont hear it at all. Speedhut also advertises that the upgraded inverter is able...

    Manual steering rack?

+1 Really not worth it. You would still have to keep the hydroboost unit and the power steering pump, unless you're going to convert to a brake boost for the brakes as well.

Sorry but what can an SCT tuner really do?

Enable/disable rear O2 sensors and EGR valve - helps with future mods. Data log - allows you to watch the data list parameters in the PCM. Granted, there arent ALOT, but some of the real important ones are in there and I have used it many many times. Allows you to look at coolant temp, long...

SpeedHut Gauge install - write up with pics

Tell you what, after the work load slows down tomorrow I'll bring my car in the shop and pull the cluster out and get you some pics of how I wired it in. I want to clean it up a bit anyway. Was ready to go home the night I did it so I just got it working and put it back together. No I didnt...

Anyone Else Here Sick Of Winter

I was sick of winter before it even started. Just working with it is bad enough - numb fingers, freezing cold cars, fixing other people's crap outside in the bitter cold, and when it snows it melts and I get dripped on all damn day. I'd much rather move further south, its just that living...

    Reinstalling the Tranny

Jack up the motor a little bit in the front. That will push it down in the back a little bit. You wont get a ton of clearance like this, but it helps. I have found the most difficult part about putting these transmissions back in is the number of splines. Just hard to get it to line up.

SpeedHut Gauge install - write up with pics

It's all good man. I'll get you some pics of the other parts I used to give you an idea. And yes I did use some additional wire. I pair of wire crimpers/strippers is the only tool you will need. Should have the pics up for you later this evening. I'll be at the shop till 7.

Got my Speedhut gauges today, minor issue.

Check my write up thread. I just did it last night. I had them set my redline @ 5800. They did it free of charge. I sent them an email BEFORE I ordered to make sure. They wrote me back within 24hrs saying to just note that in the comments section before ordering. They made the Ichange at...

    Sell my 2v to get a 4v

Keep your car. Do a PI swap with trickflow heads/cams to match your goals/valvesprings. Intake manifold, longtubes, TB/Plenum, and you've already well exceeded the power of a 96-98 cobra. Unless ofcourse you can find a super clean cobra that meets your wants. If trading up sets you back...

rear tires and front tires are different. you guys ever do this?

I WAS going to get 4 new sumitomo's, but after reading too/40 many times for my comfort of unexpected, unexplained blow outs from the sidewalls giving out I decided not to chance it just to save a couple hundred bucks. I've had the BFG KDW's (1st gen), BFG KDWS's, and I'm now riding on...

    Putting brake caplipers on back.

Wilwood big brake kit for rear: Rear Brake Kits Wilwood aint cheap though. I could swear I've seen bigger. I know I've seen as big as 14 inch for the front. IMO cobra brakes are more than enough for the street. Wouldnt mind the Cobra R kit though for the front.

SpeedHut Gauge install - write up with pics

I told myself so many times I would do a write up of a mod since I appreciate it so much when others take the time to do it. So I finally got to it and took pictures for you guys. Enjoy. Cluster bezel out There are 2 7mm screws to take out. Those are the obvious. Then there are...

    Best Budget Forced Induction?

The mongoose kits are still around. And for a stock GT, the reliability of them simply cant be beat IMO. Last I checked the price didnt increase a nice chunk. Used to be one of the cheapest AND a solid, reputable kit but now the price isnt shy of alot of the others. These days seems most...

    3:73 or 4:10 gear

If you plan on keeping the car mostly stock or n/a I'd deffinately go with the 4.10's. They are straight up awesome. Most people will tell you that. But if you get deep into mods, they could easily be your enemy. 3.73's IMO are better as a setup gear. To compliment a blower, or a car with...

X Pipe With What Chamber Flowmasters?

I would expect that they would be comparable to your fox. I've run just the flows, flows with catted x, flows with o/r h, slp 1's with o/r h and slp 2's with o/r h. Flows with the o/r h has been my favorite in sound and loudness. Its right in the middle as far as loud goes.

    Question about tranny fluid

You can go to ford and pick up their motorcraft dex III. I'm not sure how much I would like the dex/merc compatible. Maybe it will be ok, maybe not. I personally would stick with one or the other. The labor sounds pretty low to me on the rebuild. If its a reputable shop, I'd have them...

    some cool pics from work

Very nice cars! I got to see one of those ZR1's in person over the summer at a dealer auto auction. I was there locking up engines from the government clunker program. Needless to say, I didnt get to gawk long before somebody there got uptight about me and a buddy checking the car out.
