Progress Thread 88 Gt T-top- Project problem child

I got that same compressor, I shoved it my basement and when I'm out in the garage I barely hear it. Does suck though when I forget to turn it off until it kicks on at about 1am :(

i know racecraft makes a k for the mustang II rack, but this is the first ive heard of fitting one on a stock-style mount. in for details, since i was just going to do the summit rack kit which is in the $380 neighborhood.

Imo either stainless or mild would be better than aluminum, at least in a setup where the bracket is between the exhaust and the coil. Then it would act more as a heat sheild instead of just transferring it right to the other side. If you want to be really bitchin though....titanium.

Going To Go 3"...how Does This Setup Look?

ive heard accufab is hit or miss on fit, as is kooks, which given how much either cost..... if you want to stay 1 3/4 tube, ive heard the bbk stuff fits pretty good, just have to do some "tweaking" for power (grind some port welds, open up the ball connector or cut it off and weld on a v-band)...

Going To Go 3"...how Does This Setup Look?

Some of the bigger headers come with adapter plates that convert from the standard sbf pattern to the staggered (Cleveland? BBC? Whatever it came on) pattern. Hooker super comps and some kooks for sure do anyway.

The point of having a cnp setup isn't the distance, its having individual coils for each cylinder for a stronger spark at high rpm and not having a partial charge out of a single coil. That the factory tends to put them one the valve covers is purely packaging.

What about a bracket the fits between the block and the motor mount with two coils in front and two in back? That way the header kinda hides them.

Will This Exhaust Support 750rwhp On A Boosted Motor?

I've got 2" tubes for the my 427, other than the fact that's its a tall Windsor with raised exhaust ports (nothing a kmember spacer can't fix) they fit pretty well. Check my build thread for pics.

Will This Exhaust Support 750rwhp On A Boosted Motor?

if it were me i'd start working towards 1 7/8 or 2" longtubes and full 3" from the collectors back. a 3" catback on a 500rwhp car wont hurt, so why do it twice if youre going to up the power later?

What Urethane Engine And Trans Mount Do You Guys Recommend?

energy for me. i know on the trans side theres an extra plate (maybe for extra preload on the urethane?) that iirc i left out for tunnel clearance with the old tko.

could turn the back of the balancer for a press fit and a couple roll pins to secure/key it.

I didn't see it mentioned as to your material question, but it should be ferritic, so plain old mild steel will do.

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

Just heard that etown is shutting down for what sounds like the same reason as kcir and speedworld, getting forced out of (profitable) business by politicians and their friends buying up and developing all the land around it cheap and then forcing the existing eye/earsore out to raise their...

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

For me, the local street car heads up classes have cars regularly in the 9s, and next year they're adding a couple street car index classes (might get the red car in on that to keep me entertained till the fox is running). Those are both really just "fun run" things with pretty much just...
