    2012 Mustang prototype?

From what I've heard that is what is slated to replace the Ford GT. 605hp from a DOHC 6.4L V10 in concept form. Not sure what engine it will have if they produce it.

    Ford Interceptor concept

Pretty Ugly, but I think it would sell. It offers something the 300C/Charger doesn't; a manual transmission.:) Anyway, something tells me this might be the crown vic replacement. Think about it; Ford Interceptor concept.:D If that really is the idea....I don't think it will work well.

    Im impressed "long post"

The biggest player was tires. One has to remember that most of todays drag radials are equel (or better) than the slicks of the 60's and 70's. Those cars had a lot of power, but the tires couldn't get it to the ground. Case in point, my buddy had a Motion Chevelle back in the 70's that, when...

Production Numbers, Auto Show Impression, and a General Rant

I agree completely. A friend of mine just bought a new Chevy Tahoe and paid close to $50,000, and it wasn't even a fully optioned version. Just a basic LTZ 4wd, no nav system, no dvd player, no block heater, no optional gear ratio, no sunroof. He said if he ordered it fully loaded the price...

    Screw the dealerships...

I bet the dealer thought: "The Ford GT was 550hp and that sold for $160,000, the GT500 is 50 hp less so I'll just take 50K off the GT's price."

Fuel Fill Problem Isn't Resolved On 2007's

I have the same problem with my '03 Cobra and my buddy has it with his '96 GT. It only likes certain nozzles. I don't think Ford will ever fix it.

GT Throttle Lag-Has Anyone Tried This?

I belive that's due to the "drive by wire" and torque management.

    First Shelby GT500 Casualty.......

It definitely wont be the last. There will be a lot of people out there who crash this thing. 500hp can get you in trouble real fast, even with experience. A shelby just begs to be shown off too, which will lead to quite a few bumps and scrapes.

Ford could have made 500+hp naturally aspirated on the GT500

Ford the record the Australian version of the N/A 5.4L 4V makes 388hp. That would put it at 1.175 hp per ci. By the way, as motors get smaller they automatically get more efficient. So the Honda S2000 engine will be slightly more efficient than an engine that is over twice the size, even...

Would you sell this mint 66 Fastback (pics included) for the new GT500?

Personally, I would never sell a classic car for a new car. But, I was once told by a friend who is a multi-million dollar car collector, "Don't marry the car." Meaning, if a good deal comes up or you see something else you like go ahead and try something new, don't hang onto a car for any other...

    Anyone heard on delivery dates?

A lot of cars went out already, a dealership by me got one already (sold if for $75,000 too). I think they shipped out the first half of the black colored cars.

Ford could have made 500+hp naturally aspirated on the GT500

I applaud Fords use of a supercharged engine. Because of the supercharger it doesn't cost more then a few $100 and 30 minutes in the garage to pick it up 100 or so hp. To get that kind of power increase out of Chevy’s 505hp LS7 you need to do a cam swap, which costs more and isn't as easy to...

Not a Mustang, but a great car nonetheless...

Better hang onto it, this is the last year they are making them. (Well, Atleast until 2010 or so, but even if they do reintroduce it it wouldn't be on the same chassis)

Can't believe all the crying about the price!

I checked with almost every dealer in NJ that is getting more then two of them. They all laughed when I said I'd pay MSRP or maybe a few grand over. Even the dealership my '03 Cobra came from said the best they could do was $7,000 over MSRP on a vert. I don't really care if I'm the first to...

Can't believe all the crying about the price!

Yea, but the dealers are the ones that are letting it happen. With the Viper the dealerships each had a list that had the name of the person and what they wanted in the car. Your car would be ordered off that list and you would be notified when it came in, you would go pick up your car and pay...

Can't believe all the crying about the price!

The price isn't what bothers me, if the car sold for the MSRP or maybe a slight markup since it's a specialty model I could understand. But, when dealers tack on another $20,000 on average that's F@#$@#! recockulus, to put it nicely. I've got the money, but I can't justify giving that much over...
