    odd tech question.

I don't know about converting the 4.6 mod motor to a carb. Sounds pretty tough. Why not buy a Crate engine that's carb'ed instead? The engine swap would probably be less painful!

    Questions on Intake Package

RTM Motorsports up here in Canada offers a collection of parts claiming a gain of nearly 30 RWHP. http://www.rtmmotorsports.com/MustangGTTracPak.htm I'm looking at the second kit with all the C&L parts. My first question is will this be a better gain for the dollar than say Hooker long...

what all is needed when lowering the car?

Since you're stiffening your springs, getting some Subframe connectors would be a good idea. Otherwise alot of the load will just be transferred from the suspension to the chassis (weak unibody). Are you doing this for looks or performance? If it's for performance, shocks and struts would be...

    A-Arms and Coil overs...

Maximum Motorsprts has both. I believe their a-arms require a bit of modification to fit a stock k-member, just cutting some material away to allow for full travel. They also have coil over pakages. Griggs racing is another option, although you'll probably pay a bit more. Both are top notch...

    Iridium Plugs

Does anybody know the part number for Denso or NGK Iridium plugs for a 2000GT? I've found some for a Crown Victoria 4.6 but can't seem to find them locally for Mustangs. I'd assume the ones for the Crown Vic would work but I want to be 100% sure. Can anybody confirm that for me? Thanks

    Autocross on a Budget

Either way I go, I'll wind up in the Super Stock class. I've never raced before, this is just where I'd like to be for a starting point. There's not alot of racing in Eastern Canada so I doubt there would be alot of competition. As much as I'd love to go to a driving school, the closest one is...

    Autocross on a Budget

I'm looking to start autocrossing my currently stock 2000 GT but I only have $2500 that I can afford to spend on parts. First and foremeost, I'll be getting 4.10's and a Tri-Ax. After that I'm planning on either the MM Road and Track box or the MM Sport Box and some go fast goodies, probably...

I might as well forget the bolt-ons!

If I'm not mistaken, when manufacturers post numbers, the part they're showing the gain for is the bottleneck in the car. ie when they test a cold air intake, everything else on the car is 100% upgraded and tuned for maximum power. This way, the stock air filter is the only hinderance to good...

    Heat Shield Under Hood

The 'heat shield' under the hood is actually a fire blanket. The plastic pins that hold it on are desingned to melt at high temperatures, dropping the blanket over your engine at theoretically smothering an engine fire. I haven't heard any stories of Mustang engine fires so I wouldn't worry...

Prolong, Motor UP, Slick 50, Dura Lube, Z-Max...

Someone did some research on engine oil additives not that long ago and basically said that the best that they can do for you is nothing. Worst case scenario is that the additives you place in the oil react poorly with the additives already present in the motor oil causing it to break down and...

    Maximum Motorsports PHB and Magnapacks

I once asked them about aftermarket exhausts and the panhard bar. They said you can fit any exhaust with a diameter of up to 2.5" without any modification. Didn't do it myself yet so I can't verify that.

    C/C Plates

Check out the reviews section here: http://reviews.stangnet.com/Suspension/more2.html I've heard a number of people talk about the spherical bearings going within 5000 miles on the Steeda CC plates. Personally, I'm going to go with the MM's when I do mine.

That's pretty scarry considering that those are supposed to be there to smother engine fires...

Will 255/35/18 be ok on 18x9?

As soon as you get into the 35 series tires I'd count out anything cheap but I'd go with the 275's.

    Dynamic Engine Balancing

A couple of weeks ago of speed channel they were dynamically balancing an engine and singing the praises of how it would free up a lot of power and increase the life of the engine. Unfortunately, they didn't back up their claims with any numbers. Does anybody know how 'well balanced' the...

    Would you rather the '06 Cobra have a S/C V8 or V10?

In the end, sound often comes down to the exhaust system and manufacturers have to be very conscious about sound levels. First off there's obviously sound laws and then there's the fact that some people (yes, even people buying V10's) don't want a super loud vehicle. I'm sure with the right...
