    One could argue that the RPM kit isn't worth it with stock heads either. You will be better off with headers, but won't realize their full potential until you replace the heads.

    You could replace it if you wanted too, but you have to pull the head, and it wouldn't be balanced with the others. If you are going that deep, might as well freshen the whole thing.

    Are these hydraulics? If so, you don't need to run the motor or set them hot.

    Which do you drive more? Which will give you more satisfaction? If it sounds great, I am leaning X-pipe as I am guessing you will use the newer car more. Remember, if you get a decent cam and lifters, you also should be looking at valve springs and screw-in studs.

    Cowl hood works the same way. The cowl vent in your car presently feeds air into the cabin when you use the heater, which is not a factor in race cars.

    Red herring. The numbers you are throwing around don't apply to most, as the 400m has not been a traditional performance application. No mfg, can make enough of em to make em cheap. Windsor motors and SBCs, the numbers are completely different, and more the norm.

    What does "distributor components" mean? Distributors don't get weak. They don't create, they distribute. Did you pull the dizzy or no?

    Almost always a bad ground. Almost never a component that runs both lights, like the switch.

    How can you not afford it? If you cut corners now, you will only pay more later. Just have patience and save up.
