    Tail Lamps Being Backfed

It's not the LEDs. If I include at least one regular bulb in one of the six tail lamp segments, the LEDs will work correctly. It doesn't matter which position the lone incandescent occupies. Does that help narrow it down? I think it is an electrical issue with my car, but I haven't been able...

    Tail Lamps Being Backfed

Nope, I tested the sockets before I ordered. I have the regular 3157-style sockets. Any other ideas?

    Tail Lamps Being Backfed

I have the Raxiom / American Muscle sequential tail lamp kit, so all three segments of each tail lamp are always lit (when the lights are on). I should have mentioned that earlier. These are the lamps I'm using: http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/brake-lights/3157/3157-red.html. They are...

    Tail Lamps Being Backfed

With the key on and head lamp switch on, the parking lamps work but they're too bright. When I hit the brakes, they get a bit brighter and the third brake lamp comes on. With the key off, all rear lamps run correctly (parking and brake). I didn't notice this issue with the old incandescent...

    Tail Lamps Being Backfed

I bought LED tail lamps from VLEDs.com, and when I turn the key on and the lights on, the tail lamps are way too bright. I think they are being backfed by something, but I can't figure out what. Any ideas?

    Need A Tuner In Delaware

I don't know of any in Delaware, but Jon Lund (perhaps the most gifted Mustang tuner alive) lives right over the border in Media, PA.

    Auto+twinscrew = Traction Problems?

I'm sure my Star Specs would have been awesome around 400-425 rwhp / tq, but I didn't get them until after my 5.3L stroker w/ TVS 2300 build (which makes quite a bit more than that).:SN: You're right about the J-mod. I had forgotten that the earlier years were given gimped 4R70Ws from the...

    Auto+twinscrew = Traction Problems?

Sneaky, I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Star Specs or not, but they're not your average, run-of-the-mill Dunlop. They are basically a "street legal r-comp" autocross tire and are way stickier than NT555s in acceleration, cornering, and braking (I've used both). The Sumitomos weren't...

Should I Be Happy With My Mpg?

Speed is everything with these cars, as they're not very aerodynamic. I once had a long drive ahead, a CD player full of discs, and no reason to hurry, so as an experiment, I sat back, relaxed, and set the cruise control to 55. Even with 3.73s and a blower, I averaged 30.1 mpg on that trip...

    Auto+twinscrew = Traction Problems?

I was on 275/35R18 Sumitomo HTRZ-II tires at the time. Now I have Dunlop Direzza SP1 Star Specs in the same size. EDIT: I agree with Kilgore. Install the blower and supporting mods first, then see what else you need. There's a big difference between 400 rwhp and 500 rwhp in terms of traction...

    Auto+twinscrew = Traction Problems?

I used to have a Tork Tech MP112 kit on my factory 4.6L 2V making roughly 400 rwhp, and traction was difficult to come by in 1st gear, but second was fine as long as it wasn't cold / rainy / snowy. This was with a factory longblock, factory 4R70W, and 3.73s. With my new setup (at ~10 psi on...

Progress Thread Flghtmstr1's 700 Rwhp Build

Sneaky, I appreciate that the dyno results might not be what I'm hoping for, but I'm okay with that. My goal all along has been to build a fun, daily-drivable monster that can blend in with rush hour traffic yet unleash hell when you put the right pedal down. From the disapproving looks I've...

Progress Thread Flghtmstr1's 700 Rwhp Build

I don't think the engine had a chance to fully light off before the rag gummed up the works. Therefore, the forces were lower. Also, the supercharger drive belt would have slipped to "ease" the stoppage, further cushioning the blow. Still, it was pretty violent.

Progress Thread Flghtmstr1's 700 Rwhp Build

You're not kidding. I thought it was a goner for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if this incident shortened its life, but I'm sure I'll be looking to get something even bigger down the road :)

Progress Thread Flghtmstr1's 700 Rwhp Build

It has been an arduous, long, slow process (with a new wife and new house pushing the Mustang to the back burner), but here are some updates. I finally got it on the dyno a couple of weeks ago, and it put down 655 ft-lbs of torque at around 2500 rpm (as soon as the throttle hit the floor) on...

    Ignition Problems

n0v8or, you were right. I looked for that connector near the MAF, and it wasn't connected to anything! I found the other half stuffed behind the engine. I can't believe I missed that when doing the engine swap. I feel like an idiot. Thanks guys for all your help. I just hope I didn't screw up...

    Ignition Problems

I tested the injectors with a noid light and they all passed. I checked the coils, and cylinders 1,2,3, and 7 checked out, but I got nothing at 4, 5, 6, and 8. I would agree that a continuity test between the PCM and coils is the next logical step. Does anyone have a diagram of the PCM...

    Ignition Problems

The car still runs like crap after clearing the codes and pulling the battery. I could only see the noid light from the driver's seat when it was connected to the #5 cylinder, so I'm going to have my fiancee help me out tonight with the rest of them. I'll also test the noid light on a working...

    Ignition Problems

I guess I should have mentioned that before I pulled out my multimeter and borrowed a noid light, I did the resistance test on all 8 coils, and they measured within spec. I then bought and installed 4 new Pep Boys coils, but nothing changed (I returned them after the test). At this point, I...

    Ignition Problems

I finally got a chance to work on the Mustang tonight. I verified that each coil and injector is receiving +12v. I then put a noid light on the #5 coil, and got nothing when cranking. I'll test the other cylinders tomorrow when I can get a helper to turn the key while I watch the noid light...
