    What kind of fluid is in your T-5? I would suspect the tranny and sputtering is unrelated. T-5's don't use gear oil and I believe that can cause shifting problems if the wrong oil is used. I believe they just use ATF. Thats why I asked what you have in yours.

    351w-how much bore?

    Have the machine shop check it out. If a good honing is all it needs, I would not bore it. Reason being that if you rebuild it and something goes wrong later that messes up a cylinder or two, then you still have room to bore it versus sleeving or finding another bock. Just my opinion.
